[Z06] Headers

Headers
I know the top 3 companies are ARH, LG and kooks. I was wondering is there are other reasonably priced headers for the C6Z?
I saw a vendor on ebay selling (knock off) headers, anyone tried these?

Why would you want to go cheap on a $50-70K car? The top 3 are the top 3 for a reason.... Quality of build, R and D, materials used, performance gains, and the mother of all FITMENT. As with quality and "knock off" items you get what you pay for.

Maryland speed has some awesome deals on kooks right now. I was in the same boat and I called them and opted out of the free heat coating and it dropped the price considerably.

I used the B&B headers from Billy Boat. I liked the fact that all their products hooked up to the stock pieces allowing you to mix and match headers, mid pipe and mufflers any way you want. I wanted to keep my Akra titanium mid pipe and not cut it up. I was impressed with the quality and the steps they went to in keeping them as light as possible. They were also by far, the cheapest of the major brands that I considered.

I have dynatechs on my car and I have had no issues with them. I bought the car with them on it, so I didn't exactly have a choice. But having said that I would NOT change the headers on my car to ARH or Kooks.... if I bought a different Z I would probably go with ARH, but the Dynatechs are doing just fine.

Personnally i wouldnt waste money on them unless you are going to do heads and cam.The power gain on a stock car are very minimal. The ls7 exhast manifolds are very efficient and $2000 for a 6 to 7 h.p gain is not a very good trade off.Cold air intake and a tune will net you decent results and keep your investment low.Next thing i would do is port the intake manifold and throttle body. These 4 mods will bring you to 500 rwhp and you ll have invested the same or less than you would just for the headers.

try my budget set up ,you ll be very impressed and your car will fool all challengers to think you are bone stock yet you ll have at least a 50 rwhp advantage, then tell them you got driving lessons from a guy in Montreal named camirocz...lol,well at least i gave you the set up to do some damage. This set up on drag radials with a good driver should get you into the high tens. With a great driver you might beat a good driver in a zr1 but you will at least be a threat.

If you buy headers off ebay from a seller named "ilovetacotaco", who says the headers are for a "2005 + Chevy Corvette Z06", I will have no sympathy for you if you run into problems.
