Default New Rotors?

Got bored and had the wheels off to clean the insides and calipers. Although I normally keep my greasy fingers off them, I happened to run my hand over the front rotors. Instead of being shiny and smooth, they were rough and pitted. I'm going to go out on a limb here, without measuring or weighing and guess that these babies are worn out. Hmmm, what do I want for xmas now?

How many miles and how many track days? Front or rears? Do you run TC and AH?

20K miles and many track days. Fronts, as stated, TC and AH off. 2 1/2 sets of pads, I'd been told the rotors are good for 4 sets of pads.

I have been told also that the rotors are good for 4 to 6 sets of pads. This is the "party line".

However, I have been told by a very reliable source that you will likely be able to run through at least 30 sets of pads in the front before the rotors are close to the min weight.

Before you go out and purchase a new set of rotors I would recommend that you with the ones you have. You can also check the thickness of the rotor against the min thickness spec but you are likely to see very little wear in thickness.

I have tried to find out how much a new rotor weighs....or basically what the calculated difference is between the new rotor weight and the min weight stamped on the rotor. Each rotor has a uinque manufactured weight but I have to believe that the stamped miin weight is just a simple subtraction calculation but I have not been able to get this info....I have also not pursued it to vigorously yet.

It's hard to believe that these things could function properly with a surface that's rougher than my driveway!

How many miles do the Spring Mountain cars get out of their rotors? Would seem that would set a reasonably useable (and perhaps even conservative) minimum life for a car that sees street and track duty.

We care very much ZR1, more on the race track.
We have found that at very good and fast drivers,
The carbon plate at about 20000km diminishes greatly.

impact:
The surface is not smooth, but is very rough, the smooth disc usually get very slight grooves on the inside of the disc.
The pedal will also have slightly softer.

Is known so that the pedal is very soft on the professional circuit.
The risk is now much more bigger!

My recommendation: Replace

NB: But what I tell, but everyone knows that the wear on the track is20 x greater than.

Sounds like you are saying that at 12.5 thousand track miles, it is time for the rotors to need replacing

That is a lot of track miles
