What Drag Radial Setup you guys running?
Can you guys post up your Drag Radial Setups.
1. What Wheels you have?
2. What Tires do you have?
3. How they perform?
And pics of the setup if you got them!
Looking for a setup for my pretty much stock Z06

I have the exact same setup. However this is too tall of a tire and will affect the 1/4 mile times in a negative way. I'm still trying to find a tire that will keep the height closer to stock and hook up.

I'm running the new hoosiers on the old ZR1 17x11 rim. it's not beautiful but they work great. the hoosier is a little bit lighter than other drag radials because they are not steel belted. instead a nylon like material is used, but it's technicaly still a radial. i would not recomend them on the street because there is NO tread.
the other positive is that the 315's i have mounted on here are a much smaller diameter than the factory wheels, so it lowers my gear ratio. I get to use most of 4th gear when crossing the line in the 1/4 mile.

The wheels look like a great option. make sure to have the correct offset to clear the Z06 brakes. a lot of those replica rims look like the OEM wheel but will only fit on C5 or bas C6's with smaller calipers.

What sort of speed are you trapping? With my stock tires I am just needing 4th at 125-126 MPH through the traps at redline. I'd either like to get a little taller tire or a little shorter and not be shifting or running 7100 rpm through the traps. I'm a real rookie at this, but it sounds like shorter would be helpful as an overall lower effective gear ratio would be better?

I had a CCW 17" front, 18" rear setup before with 345/35R18 MTs on the back. I sold that though because I didn't like driving on skinnies. Now I run 18x12 reproduction wheels on the back with 345/35R18 MTs.

I'm close to 700hp now and will shortly surpass that. The taller tire will be needed.

I am H/C and went to the track two weekends in a row on different setups.
Week 1- 345/35/18 M&H's in a +650 DA. Car went 10.74 @ 135. Best 60' was 1.7.
Week 2- 315/30/18 ET streets in a +1400 DA. Car went 10.53 @ 133. Best 60' was 1.57.
The difference in height between the two tires is about 2". On the taller tire I was shifting into 4th right before the trap. On the shorter tire I was shifting into 4th much earlier.

For those looking to maximize their gear try using this calculator... http://www.f-body.org/gears/

Some folks don't get the concept behind a drag tire. It squashes down on launch to decrease the radius thus reducing rear axle ratio, and then grows in high gear thus increasing rear axle ratio. To do this, it requires a large side wall. A 15" wheel would be ideal, but won't fit over the brakes. You can get the LG kit to reduce brake size, but if its not a dedicated drag car a nice compromise is the Z06 C5 17" front wheel and the P275/40R17 Hoosier. Works great on anything from stock to just short of a turbo car.

I have tried that combo & agree too much tire & the next size smaller worked out better for me.
