special washers
Jimmy Painter. Some time ago you posted a type of washer that holds the bolt to the washer better.
Our titanium washers on the hood have a tendency to walk when you tighten them.
Do you have the name of those?
can't find the post.
This is the washer:

Me too Jim. I removed one axle and did the CV joint boots and put it back together with NordLocks rather than safety wire. When the other side comes apart it will get NordLocks as well.

Just removed 3lbs of plastic. Hummm; what am i up to now?
Question: Does anyone know when and if GM changed the rear brake duct bezel with more of a flange to help with rock chips?
Also: -38.5 grams of rocks from the wheel liners.

Very interesting tire weights and facts
Today I swapped out our Pirelli P-Zero Rossos for the new ZR1 meats Pilot sport cups.
I was ecstatic when I weighed the 335 rear and found out it weighed 31.8 lbs. Why ecstatic? A brand new 345 NRF Pirelli weighs 35.55 lbs (I have a new one in stock) so I figured goodbye 3.75 lbs of unsprung weight per rear wheel, right?
Wrong. The old tire on the ULZ rim weighed 59.35lbs and the new Pilot SC exactly 59.35 lbs. No difference. Humm. Then I remembered all the tire spin over the past year and that explained it. The old tire now weighs 30 lbs vs. the 35.55lb new weight. Over 5 lbs lost on the road per tire.
The tread width is 13.5 on the Pilots, 13 on the Pirellis. Even though they are 335s vs. 345s. Once they are "worn", I will see the extra weight go bye bye.
Neutral weight loss in the rear except for 1.32 lbs of sound dampening total. Each side has a bag of "stuff" stuffed in behind the wheel well that does nothing but eliminate some road noise.
Then there is the 39 grams of rocks per side:
Why am I ripping up this area? I will reveal this at the Autobahn.
Fronts go on tomorrow, but the weight of a front is 47.15 lbs worn, down from 48.35 lbs new. The fronts were 275s, now we have 285s and have gained a lb per wheel.
Pilot front:
The tires are now run flats vs. non run flats; the traction will be improved. Skating at 70 mph is nuts in second gear.

When I weighed the worn tire/rim, it had lost the 3.75lbs over 1 year of spinning.
Now had I had the tires shaved, they would have been effectively 1 year old, and weighed anywhere from 3 to 4 lbs lighter.

Jim are you going to do the tar sheeting removal? There's a good bit in those rear fender wells (and it wraps around back behind the rear bumper) and there should be some on top of the center console. Then there is the sound deadening matting that's glued behind the carpeting... You could still keep the carpets but just remove that sound deadening/backing stuff for a nice unseen weight loss.

Once the tubs are back in things will get back to normal.
I am sick though. Added 3 lbs on both front wheels. The Pirellis were 275s vs the PSC 285s and worn to 48lbs with the rim. The PSCs are 51 lbs.
They stick like glue. Still no first gear, but if I do not hit 2nd hard, there is actually traction now. Except for the front weight gain, I love em!
