Anyone raced a zr1 on a roll yet
I am very curious to know if anyone with a stock z06 has had a go at it with a stock zr1.I ve raced everything else out there namely :2005 viper,r8 v-10,f 430 ferrari,2010 gtr,and i havent had anything stay even close so far except a 2010 black 911 twin turbo porsche. These runs were from 60 to 180 mph and the porsche being the closest was still 4 cars behind.I hear so much about how fast the zr1 is compared to all other cars but cant seem to run into one .the 911 tt was hyped to be a zr1 killer but i beat it handily .I didnt run the porsche off the line cause my tires at the time were good year garbage and fairly worn.I now have generals non run flats and it hooks a lot better. The way my z06 leaves these cars at top end makes me wonder can the zr1 be that much quicker? If it is all i can say is wow!

The ZR1 is 0.9 second faster 0 to 150mph as tested by Car and Driver... so that is about 4-5 car lengths at that speed.... But after the Z06 shifts to 5th the gap will widen more.
But I have no personal experience on it...

Why start at such a low speed? How about from 120? Two years ago at Watkins Glen I had a ZR1 on my bumper coming through Turn 4 (driven by one of the forum vendors) waiting for me to give the passing signal. When I gave the signal he pulled to the inside and accelerated past and away from me onto the back straight. By the time I got to the bus stop he had disappeared around the next turn. I was in 4th gear at WOT and did not lift when I gave the signal. We aren't talking a couple of car lengths here. We are talking close to a 600 ft lead in just under a half mile distance. I hit just over 150 when I started braking for the bus stop.
Living in Montreal you are just a short distance from the Glen so maybe you should see how well your car does against all of these others on a track where the only thing that makes you lift your foot off the floor is the sight of that turn in front of you coming up very fast. There was a guy from Quebec with a GTR there this last Wed/Thur when I was there.

Off a role the ZR1 is a true monster.....it's mountain of torque makes up for even the slightest mismatch when you drop gears. Even a reasonable driver can make a ZR1 decimate a pro in a Z06. Of course....it's never a bad thing to be beat by another Vette.

I really don't get why so many Z06 owners still "question" the power of a ZR1. It's pretty sad when just about every other forum gives props to the ZR1 stock for stock while the Z06 section of CF.com continues to "question" the difference.
Oh, and be careful trying a 2012 Porsche Turbo...... it won't be pretty for you.

Oh, C5 Frank said that Car Driver tested them and that the ZR1 was .9 seconds quicker from 0-150.
Well the difference is not 4-5 car lengths, it approx. 198ft which is around 13.5 car lengths. That's called getting raped.

No chance in a stock Z06... I've raced a ZR1 from a 60 roll and never went more than 1/2 car length ahead of him, and I have 556rwhp (right about the same as a ZR1)

Watch the new Ring videos, both cars are pretty even until the last big straight. The ZR1 goes afterburner and really pulls the Z06.

Could not have said it better myself. Too many Z06 owners can't adjust to the fact that they no longer own the top factory Corvette ever made.

Modded C6Z comparison vs. other stock cars are allowed, just don't make a modded car vs C6Z comparison. The C6Z is the greatest car every created by the hand of god, and to show otherwise gets people butt hurt on this forum.
