Not so sure about that one, as a guy in our road track group runs a GT. Dont get me wrong, I love the car, but seems about the same performance wise to me, unless you modded it.

I talked to a guy last night at the cruise that had a 2008 Black ZO6 with HUD/Nav, chrome wheels, two tone seats, in great shape with about 42K miles. He is locally advertising it for $42,995K. It is all bone stock. He has it for sale locally. Here is his ad,
2008 Fully loaded Z06 Chevy Corvette For sale. Black interior and exterior. Beautiful condition and great price. The car has all options including HUD, Nav, Bose stereo, and has new Goodyear runflat EMT tires. The new tires alone are about $1500 so the 42,995 - 1500 this is a steal for all options, and the best color combination. The car also comes with a very nice Z06 custom fitted cover with Z06 emblems.
Clean and clear title and carfax in hand, I live downtown in SLC. Please call if you are very serious. I have had some offers but need to get the price I am asking or I will sell it on Ebay for more. Remember these cars are basically race cars that get 28 mpg on the freeway and 18 in the city. This is a great car.

Sorry for the confusion. I did not buy the car as someone at the car show had it for sale last night. He had it for sale on KSL.com which is a local free classified ad sponsored by the local news station.
The car looked really nice if any one was interested.

about nunbers built. In '10 only 518 built.
I have not seen '11 numbers but know most of the 'Z's built (in 11) were high end models. (Carbons and Z07 pkgs).
I'm glad their finally stabilizing. A couple years ago 'Z owners had tosell at highly depreciated prices which made me sick to see. I'm holding on to mine of course.

'Z's
2009 3,461, 1LZ- 644 (18%), 2LZ-1,654 (48%), 3LZ-1,163 (34%)
2010 518, 1LZ- 132 (25%), 2LZ- 193 (37%), 3LZ- 193 (37%)
2011 904, 1LZ- 190 (21%), 2LZ- 191 (21%), 3LZ- 523 (58%), ULZ- 252 (28%), this is the "Limited Edition" Carbon RPO code. Z07- 540 (60%). Therefore 88% were either Carbon's or Z07's.
Note that the ULZ percentage is of the total number of Z06's and should not be additive to 1, 2, 3LZ RPO's. The 1, 2, 3LZ's are distinct from each other while the ULZ Carbon's are combined with either 1, 2 or 3LZ trim levels. Although, I have never seen a 2LZ Carbon, there are a few that are 1LZ's, but far and away most are 3LZ's.
Compare this to the ZR1 numbers:
2009 1,415, 1ZR- 213 (15%), 3ZR-1,202 (85%) First year for the LS9
2010 1,577, 1ZR- 151 (10%), 3ZR-1,426 (90%)
2011 806, 1ZR- 140 (17%), 3ZR- 666 (83%)
Almost twice the production for the Z06 and half the production for the ZR1 in 2011.
BTW, call me a traditionalist as well. I went for the 2011 ULZ.

First of all, I agree that because of the price of the typical Z06 having escalated it has helped used values.
Secondly, the used market in general is quite good. I traded my wife's Mazda SUV (CX9) a couple of months ago and was pleasantly surprised at what it brought.

Paid 74K for my beauty off the show room floor which was a deal back in 07 for this high demand car. It nose dived in value for a few years so happy to see they have slowed down in that trend. I plan on keeping mine though as Its getting close to being paid off. That and the only car in my price range that I would be interested in replacing it with is another Z06.

Have you seen how much 2012s list for??? That is what keeps the value on the older models up..... A 2LZ loaded is knocking on $90k... if you add the Z07 or carbon... forget it....
Plus the used Z06 market is stronger than the new one!! Not many Z06s have been built since '09....

And I came to the same conclusion they did.
If you mean mod $ for mod $,then the GT easily wins. But the price of entry is substantially more too.

Believe me I know too.... anything less than 15k off is a bad deal on an '11.... But there just arent many new ones around compared with a few years ago.

I've been having an internal battle over the past couple weeks about selling mine or not. '06 LMB Z06, 2LZ + NAV, 15k miles, comp gray wheels, flawless exterior and interior. Brand new NT-05s, Halltech CF-112, LG Super Pros, Borla S, MGW, a few other things and tune from Carlos. Haven't dyno'd but runs dead even with a friend's '08 Z that dyno'd at 510 rwhp.
I'm struggling with the decision to sell and put the money towards a house... Here in UT the driving season is cut short by a few months, plus with my work I can't commute in it, it only gets driven on weekends. If I did sell, I know I would want another one in the future. I would imagine a C6 Z comparable to mine would cost less in the future after the C7 comes out than I could sell for now... but if that's not the case I'm better off keeping it. I have considered listing it for 45k and seeing if there's any interest to help me decide. Is that a reasonable price in the current market?

I too have noticed the uprising in the used sale value escalating from last years prices. Two of my buddies baught AO Z06's last year with under 10k miles for 41k. I was hoping to be able to snag one for myself for around 37k by the end of the year but now it looks like I'll be paying more than they did in the long run.
