Back by popular demand. Our DRM Bilstein GPs have been very popular over the past few years.
Here is the history of the product.
DRM took a set of standard Bilstein sport shocks and installed them into a C6Z. We found them to be a improvement but felt the car needed something better. Using our years of racing and street driving experience on Bilstein shocks and started working on the valving. Our goal was to have a shock that
1.Increased feel for the driver
2.Rid all unsettling feelings in the car over bumps
3.Offer a better ride
4.Increase mechanical grip
5.Keep the back end of the car planted!
After finding the right setup we had to start building them. The normal Sport shock was being built in Ohio, sent to NC, then shipped to CA. Then took apart, yes taking apart a brand new shock and re-valving them to our specs. This was not a easy, cheap way of marketing a product.
The price was 695.00 for a set, not including shipping
One day in between X-mas and New Years, I was in my office hanging out on the Corvette Forum and someone said “what about a GP”. My ears perked up, with some phone calls and emails we found that the Ohio plant could build them for us, with our valving in there the first time. But required a 100 sets to be built and a long lead time. After hearing the overwhelming support for the cause and people interested we made it happen!!! The feedback after the shocks were installed almost had me falling out of my chair, with overjoy. Bottom line is they work as advertised and at a GP price (450 shipped) they are very easy to market.
Earlier this year we completed one more GP v2.0 with 100 more sets sold!!!
We also offer a Bushing up grade, that has raised questions. The bushings are made out of a harder poly material to allow less bushing deflection and longer bushing life. There isn't much of any drawbacks to running the bushings. Besides some added feel of the road and allowing the shocks to work better.
So here is the deal on DRM Bilstein GP v3.0
We need 50 people to sign up here http://dougrippie.com/?p=1046
225 dollars down and 225 dollars at the time of delivery. Total $450.00 Shipped
Before we send in the order to Bistein. The production time is 4 months after we place the order. There is nothing that we can do to make it faster, so please don't ask.
You can also call or fax in your order to our sales office. International shipping is not a problem (extra fees will apply)
Thanks

A "must buy" for any Z06. I have them, and what a difference it made in the car's stability.

Sounds like these shocks will provide a much better ride.
1. Is there an option these shocks come in standard stock color? (you know - when my motor blows up, dealer could easily notice different color shocks as a red flag to deny warranty and that would not be good).
2. Have you sold more shocks with poly or no poly?
Sounds like these shocks will provide a much better ride.

2. 75-80 percent of the people buy the poly bushing upgrade. I was thinking about including them and raising the price. But I'm not the Government, I'm going to tell people what to buy

Just to clarify, these shocks are for C6 model Corvettes only? Do they fit a C5, and if so, how do they compare to the standard Bilstein Sport shocks made specifically for C5?
