That seems like a lot of excess weight with a red and black coat of paint. Also if you get a chip on your black wheels that would really show through with the red paint. I don't think thats a nice look.

Yeah, I thought so too, but that is straight from the head of Exterior Design for Corvettes. I guess they can more accurately mill than they can paint a pin stripe. He also mentioned that the wheel 'window' where 'Corvette' is embossed is slightly thicker than the other 'windows to offset the weight of the TPMs. That way they don't have to use as many weights to balance the wheels. Also wheel production will be moving to the USA from Speedline in Italy.

It would be a track-only toy. Not street legal, full cage, one seat, plexiglass rear hatch window, etc. No cats or mufflers.

z06x is suppose to be a base vette with an added z06 body kit and then supercharged. Z0 will refer to the body kit and 6x refers to horsepower in the mid to upper 600 horsepower range.

i know supervettes has the ZR6x and its exactly what i mentioned above except that they have a zr1 body kit on theres. hopefully im not wrong about the z06x and its an actual model

the best rims to come out for the corvette to date are the original z06 speedline rims in the polished or machine silver look, second would be the spyders and the machine silver cup rims above.

Black rims are where its at. I don't expect a lot of the older crowd to be up with the times though; at least Chevy is.
Not sure if a stock Vette rim in chrome would be considered "ghetto", even by the younger crowd. I think a bling/ghetto rim would be 3 or 4 inches larger in diameter and fitted with a "10" aspect ratio tire. But your opinion calls fourth what they say about opinions, you know the rest! Also, go visit the Ferrari homepage and look up their current offering of GT cars. They show a nice PIC of them and it looks like they all have chrome rims!

No, its not a base Corvette with body kit and supercharger. It is not in production, but the factory guys said they are trying to get some built. It is essentially a stripped out ZO6 with coil overs and other suspension upgrades and a built naturally aspirated 427 motor(Katech or Pratt and Miller, I don't remember which one). It would not be street legal, no emmissions equipment and only one seat (a racing seat). Full cage, no insulation, no cats, no mufflers, no airbags, no A/C, no radio. Did have a water bottle and holder on the cage. The rear window is plexiglas.

I've got another short video of the ZO6X running and you can hear the idle and rev. Its apparent that its not running a stock cam or exhaust or anything close to something the factory would sell for street use

I'll try uploading it tonight.

Have to agree - nobody has every told me in any way that my car looks ghetto or blingy. I get that some folks don't like chrome just like I don't like black, but I try not to over state things either.

Black wheels with certain paint is ok, but more bland than stealth. Chrome doesn't go with all colors either. Since I run a track pad on the track and street, my preference would be comp grey rims since that's the color my rims look most of the time anyway.

Love the dark rims. I bet they look better in person without the shade.

Short vid of the ZO6X running. The guys around the car are taping a Corvette lifestyle show and the guy in the car is the actor who plays the football coach on Saturday Night Lights TV series.
