Nitto NT05 285 fronts Rubbing
Well, had the GYs replaced with NT05s and the fronts (285s) are now making contact with the air duct at full lock. I know quite a few people run 285 in the front and I never read/heard of issues like this...
The shop that does work on my car is suggesting to install, for a lack of a better word, a bracket that will cut down the turning radius to just shy of the contact point with the air duct. Anybody notice the same issue?

Burning Brakes
I have run 285 NT05 fronts for two years and never had this problem with stock height and stock or larger GM brake ducts. Now dropped ~1.0" with LG drop-spindles and LG brake spindle ducts (larger than stock) and no rub.

They wont rub on the duct when you put the car back down on the ground. With the car lifted it will. Same tires on mine and I'm lowered a bit. I have a full thread about these tires. Just search my name and NT05. I have tons of pictures. U might get very light rubbing on the inner fender from the outside edge of the tire if you drive it hard. Two autocross completed on these same size and type with no problems. Again check my previous thread.

I have the 285 Nittos on LG World Challenge Wheels and they rub the outside of the front fender. They are slowly wearing away the top of the plastic spoiler at the front of the wheel well.

If your allignment is on and you are running stock wheels then there has to be something going on with the duct itsself. My 285's on my 20"ADV1 wheels touch where yours are rubbing but only ever so slightly and only at full lock. I am never going more than .3mph so I dont even notice it.

The tire only comes in contact with the duct at full lock. I'm not worried about track or autocross applications, but rather maneuvering in tight spaces, ie parking lots. It seems that if it continues to rub at full lock, eventually it will make a whole in the air duct, making it less effective.
