One more thing you guys may not realize as well.... Every new car with LED taillights will set off your Laser detector when they hit the brakes in front of you and are at just the right (wrong) angle.... even the laser distance monitoring systems on some of the high end cars will set it off too. Makes for a lot of false warnings... Nothing worse than a false Laser warning!!!

On that interceptor website it says that the heads have to be visible. Are there any hidden solutions available? I don't like the idea of some random black box showing on the front and rear of my Z.

i have the 9500CI and it does shift the laser and has saved me from a 1/2 dozen tickets where I could actually see the cop on the bike shooting it at me and I was speeding. FWIW

There is no complete radar laser solution....
Valentine and passport both detect laser neither will jam it. You have to buy a standalone jammer system for complete coverage. For complete coverage you will also want to select a jammer with front and rear heads. Installation is critical for good protection

yes the heads must be visible.
As far as the shifter setup, to each his own, I dont mean to get into a mines is better than yours thing. But I will say that any perspective buyer should check out the guysoflidar website where there has been intensive and comprehensive testing of all the Jammers we have discussed and draw your on conclusions.

ok guys im leaning towards the interceptor, the videos of the product are pretty solid. anyone have any install pics?
i got zapped on 121 northbound between alma and stacy by allen PD. drove by there today and there was a police truck at the same spot with constant on radar. V1 was all over that one. someone had already been pulled over on the southbound side.

This picture was taken with the camera 2' off the floor. Normally, the sensors are pretty much hidden because they are set back by the grill.

I must ad that the V1 now can be integrated with the HUD, that feature alone makes me want the V1 but the V1 by its self can't compare to the 9500 CI. Of course it can't compare because of cost and features...
I drove: Dallas > DC and Dallas > San Diego.
On the DC trip, I used a 8500i (which is comparable to the V1) and it was flawless as it treated me well for 4 years.
On the San Diego trip, I used a V1 and it had more false alarms and did work well but at the end of the day, I have my faith in the Escort.
This is a huge debate between my local car buddies, most of them do use the V1 BTW.
The V1 with shifters is a great package but if you want the next step, get the 9500CI!
The install is sweet on the 9500ci, my hand sits on the control panel and the display is on the left side of my rear view mirror. I also installed the "Alert" light in my drivers side A-pillar air vent so it glows red to green at night, also great for 2 sensory inputs!

Good info in this thread...The only thing I am wondering is, what happens when you are speeding and the police know it? Is there an excessive speed or some sort of endangerment ticket that they can tag you with if they don't clock the exact mph? I'm sure they would still pursue or at least from my experiences...

Not true. I have had a Laser Interceptor for one year. It has saved me once from a motorcycle lidar while going 75. I have never heard it go off other than testing before this incident. Where did you get your information regarding false signals from LED taillights? The monitoring systems for Audis and BMWs use a radar signal, not laser.

I have had mine go off 17 times in a row when following a bus with LED taillights.... Everytime it hit the brakes my V1laser went off.... Also has happened to me when behind a A8.... There was also an article about some new cars going to laser for distance warning anyhow it might effect laser detectors.

Do you have a LI? In the software setting for my LI you can select DO NOT WARN for Unknown Gun.
That will solve most of the false alarms.
In my car I have a LI Quad HP, a V1 and Passport 9500XI. Yes overkill but it works for me.
By far the V1 has the most false laser alerts.

Same thing happened with me with my V1. Especially true with the new Infinity's and MB's.

i have had false alerts while going through the shadows of trees of fence lines where passing shadows causes a light pulsing effect across my sensor. however despite the false warning (which is RARE) does it hurt to slow down anyway?
