Wow, congrats! I always wondered if anyone really wins these.

If you track the car I'm not sure you want the Z07 or the carbon package. For track use, the magnetic resonance suspension is not optimum and neither are the carbon ceramic brakes. You want more adjustability for various track surfaces & ride heights and brakes you can change rotors and pads routinely without taking out a loan.

Either Torch Red or Crystal Red will look great with any color wheel. I also like the chrome wheels, but you could have the gray wheels chromed or just trade them out later if you can't live with them.

Good luck!

How much is it to enter? And how much people enter?

I'm trying to calculate the odds.

I test drove this exact car in mid-February....they had it all cleaned up....I ended up purchasing on order a 2011 Jetstream Blue Z06 with the Z07 and CFZ packages...3LZ...loaded. Get the CFZ You will be glad you did....I though the red looked great...just wanted the blue more.

Congrats!

check the NCM website...usually each raffle only 500, or 1000, tix are sold...at anywhere from $100 to $1,000 per ticket...

if you are a NCM member, you should be receiving the weekly e-newsletter...the monthly raffle info is therein.

Congratulations. I am a fellow BYO Z06 winner except mine was in '08. If you track the car I would suggest that you will need 2 sets of wheels. The comp grays don't show brake dust too bad so make them your track wheels. The Z07 option is great but you will want a set of Adjustable shocks. As for carbon, it will look great so I would go for it.
Congrats to you again and enjoy the ride.
Bill

With the Z07 package you are limited to the comp gray wheels. The current Z looks pretty good with the chrome wheels. With comp gray wheels ,black carbon and torch red I would guess you go from the pretty look to the mean look. Does anybody have a good picture of red,comp gray wheels and the carbon package?----Thanks Ed
Congrats, you just saved yourself at least $80K. I opted for everything except the CF option because the splitter on the street is an accident waiting to happen. Definitely get the Z07 package which really makes the car comfortable to drive as well as looking awesome with the comp grey ZR1 wheels.

Say the cash you get is 43k and we take the best case scenario of only 500 tickets sold, then you would need to pay less than $86 per ticket for it to be a 'smart' thing to do (i.e. expected value > 43k).

Of course, this is probably just for fun, and in that case it's totally different. I know I've done raffles 'just for fun'. But it always feels good to win, especially when the math is against you .

I am a Mathematics teacher as well as an adjunct professor of mathematics and the expected value of each ticket sold is as follows assuming the ticket cost is $400 and all 500 tickets are sold:

Expected Value = (Probability of winning)(Amount Won) + (Probability of Not winning)(Amount Lost)

E = (1/500)(43000) + (499/500)(-400)
E = 86 + -399.20
E = -313.20

Sorry.....couldn't resist posting the correct Expcted Value

My 2011 Jetstream Blue Z07/CFZ is sitting at 4B00 in the back lot of the Corvette Plant.....I have a very good chance of taking delivery by this Friday or Saturday...if not then... early the following week....this is the type of post of a man who can't concentrate or get any work done at 1:45 in the morning.......

Regards,
Scott

You don't buy raffle tickets or lottery tickets expecting to win anything. But, if you happed to win something, it's a plus.

Congratulations! I also won a BYO Z06 in October of 2005. Bought two tickets. Adam called at 7:30 Bowling Green time. My Z06 was built in December. Just in time for the holiday plant shutdown. I took delivery at the Museum in January 2006.
I guess they were a little less costly then, as I "only" had to put $16K down. And it did put my wife and I into a higher tax bracket. All in all, for $25K, I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Oh, and the tour of the plant is longer and you get to see more processes than on the regular tour. It was about two hours long.

My statistics teacher would be disappointed in me lol (although it's been a while). I forgot to ad in P(!winning)*(amt lost).

So best case scenario would be an EV of (1/500)*(43000)+(499/500)(-100) = 86 - 99.8 = -$13.8

Again, I know this point is moot when you're doing it for fun but it's all too easy to fall into the trap of winning anecdotes.

Congrats you lucky dog!!!

The way my luck runs with these things if there were 500 tickets sold and I was able to buy 499 of them I would still not win!!!!

I agree with the other forum member too....... strip down your old 06 Z06 and track it and keep this new one for the weekends!!!!

22k you have to come up with? That's amazing. Why isn't just the sales tax?
