Default Maximum speed in each gear

Does anybody have a chart that has the maximum permissible speed in each gear with the TR6060 transmission for the Z06 ? Can't find this information anywhere.

I was thinking of a real-world chart that should be out there specifically for the Z06.

Maybe I should have asked whats the maximum speed you have had your car up to in each gear ? Anybody have any numbers ?

Bring your car out to Mosport one day and you can test it yourself in the first four gears up the back straight.

I don't want to test the engineering limits of the car on my car. I thought someone on this forum would possibly know.

Those numbers are a little off from what I get with my car. On the HUD I see 61, 90, and 123 on the rev limiter in the first three gears respectively. I haven't topped out in 4th yet but have seen 154 at the end of the back straight at the Glen. Haven't used 5th gear at a track yet other than running a cool down lap.

Basically the same thing I gave him. All he needs to do now is go look up GMs top speed on the car and correlate that with the chart.

The car won't break, it can handle it. That way you can say 'I know it goes 'x' in this gear, I've done it'! Rather than 'I've read' it can go this fast.

Bill, you need to make a trip up here to Mosport, you'll use all of 4th and reach into 5th on that back straight!

Thanks but I think that is for the T56 transmission. Nothing there for Z06 with the TR6060.

Did they change the gear ratios? Should be the same T56 to TR6060

In the M6 the C6 and C6 with Z-51 are geared different. The Z06 has the non z-51 gearing I believe.

Yeah, Bill - I get around 159 when I wind it up to redline in 4th.

In the video below I'm short shifting because there's no traffic and I'm just cruising, but you can get an idea of speed in each gear.

mine are similar to yours. 61, 91, 123. i guess it has to do with the different tire sizes. mine is an 07 with the T56 thought

LS7 will hit redline in first through fourth gears and will top out at 198 in fifth gear(before hitting redline).

Stock 08 Z06 (TR6060), I see 1st - 61, 2nd - 91, 3rd - 123, and 4th - 154 at red line. I have OEM tires and wheels with about 70% tread left. I expect the factory claimed 198 in fifth (prior to red line), but haven't tried that yet. Cheers - Jim
