Orange or Blue
Hi,
I'm closing in on the purchase of a C6 Z06 and I I've narrowed my choices to either Atomic Orange or Lemans Blue. (Daytona Sunset Orange Metallic or Jetstream Blue would be great but they're either hard to find or out of my price range.)
Unfortunately, I'll be forced to park the car outside during the summers. I know it's sacrilegious but what can I do? I live in a mountain resort village where the cheapest detached home with an attached garage starts at around $600k.
So my question is this. Which color would be better in terms of looking clean? My last C5 FRC was black and I don't think I'd take a black Z06 if someone gave it to me.
I'm thinking Orange would be better at masking dirt than blue?

I hate to say it but if you have to ask you obviously care about how clean it looks (as do I with my own car) and no matter what color you get you'll see the dirt. I have an AO and I don't think it masks dirt or even dust to where I wouldn't think it's dirty when it is. Between LB and AO I think you should just pick the color you like best while clean and just live with it.

In my opinion if you want to enjoy your car and fly some what under the radar of people, get the blue. The AO attracts attention like poop attracts flys. Ok, bad analogy but when I saw my 2008 AO Z I knew I had to have it. Its a great color for a car and the only GM orange that I like.
I just wanted the car when i saw it. I was ignorant to the fact that it would draw the attention it does. In my experience it hasn't been bad attention in any way. Just many questions and comments at gas stations, parking lots, stop lights, etc. The only time I don't get asked about the car and the color are at Corvette shows. its a nice respite.

Dude...you own it, you drive it, you clean it,..... and you have to look at it...so quit worrying about what other people think and get what you want!

I'd agree with one exception, Artic White.
Any white car will mask dust/dirt quite well compared to all other colors.
Yup, correct assessment again IMO.
I've a JSB Z06. Dust is something I've had to live with and especially on the rear end.
Found a California Duster makes life a lot easier than washing every time I get home after a cruise.

Took these pics today, the AOZ has not seen a bucket of suds in over 2 months. Garage kept, not a DD but have driven it considerably since that last wash. AO hides it well.

I'm about to put the GS front fenders and fascia (bumper) on my black coupe and am going to repaint it Jetstream Blue.
Expensive to do but worth it I think.
Current looks:
(finished car will look like this)
Jetstream Blue is a VERY expensive tri-layer paint (damn near $2,000 for the materials alone) but you can't beat it!

I like both colors equally but wanted to get some input from the owners regarding the maintenance. Ideally, I'd like to look at the colors first hand but there are no C6's in town (let alone ones in AO or LMB).

Since we are strictly talking color I say the orange is the better choice. My C6 was DSOM and I loved that color. I didn’t realize how easy this color was to maintain until I got my LeMans Blue Z. The LeMans blue is not as bad as black to keep clean put its probably the runner up.
Just my opinion from somebody who has owned both colors.

This thread wasn't supposed to be a battle between Orange or Blue.
