Road Course Track Wheels & Tires
What works well and fits? I'd like to get wheels & R compound tires, wheel brands sizes & tires? Forgeline, any others? Hoosier R6, Toyo 888?

I've heard the factory Grand Sport wheels 18" front & 19" rear will clear the rotors?
Then an easy choice for Hoosier R6's
This would be the least expensive option unless you budget allows for custom forged wheel from CCW or someone like that.
I'm not a good enough on the track to benefit from the Hoosiers yet but I think I would go with the above the rims in Black from House of Wheels or alike.
Does anyone know if Hoosier has any plans for the R6's in ZR1 sizes?

The 18" Z06 wheel wont even clear the rear caliper on the ZR1. I would be very shocked if the GS wheel came close to clearing the front!...... CCW is the only 18" that I know of that can clear them.

I'm not sure we are talking about the same set-up. I know standard race tires are 18" (front and rear) and the least expensive to buy especially with some laps on them from real race teams, but I was suggesting the GS wheels are the same as the Z06 tire sizes which Hoosier R6 are available, but I had heard that the 18/19" GS wheel has a larger interior dimension to clear the rotor than the Z06 18/19" which will not work on Zr1.
To be clear you would use 18" R6 up front and 19" R6 in the rear with factory GS wheels.

I am interested in this too. I don't think I'm going to be satisfied with the stock Michelins for hard track day work, so I'd like a reasonably priced set-up for some suitably wide R-comps.
Can anyone confirm 100% the GS wheels will clear our rotors/calipers?

The knock offs are useually produced to the same dimensions as the factory wheel.
Call CCW they can make 18's to fit all the way around and reasonably priced (about $750 a wheel) My 2 rears will be here monday with DR's on them.

For tires: Toyo R888s are my choice.

I run sport cups on my Z06 and was very impressed with the stock michelin tires on the ZR1 at Spring Mountain, I couldn't believe the grip the ZP tires achieved and the electronics on the car are amazing, I wouldn't alter the wheel size as this may disrupt the active handling, we ran the cars with all electronics and stock tires, truly surprising and amazing

Neither. The stock tire sizes are 25.8" front and 26.6" rear. The 18" Toyos I run are 24.8" front and 26" rear. Folks' concern about ratios, sizes, etc for the electronics are completely unfounded. As long as the fronts are smaller than the rears, all is good.

Now, aero with shorter rears will be an issue. The car's aero needs the rake that it has with the taller rears. Reversing the rake will mess the car up at speed, and make it feel like the front end is floating. Not really a good idea.

Yep. The biggest trouble maker will be the TCS, because it'll think you're constantly spinning your rear tires (ie, they're spinning faster than the fronts are). But if you have the system disabled, it won't be a problem.

I have tracked my ZR1 on the stock tires quite a bit. I set the track record for a stock street car on stock tires (at local track)...beating a few hoosiered/race suspended Z06s. I am planning on running 18 inch Hoosiers very soon. My stock tires have taken quite the beating. The track owners were very impressed with the abilities of the car...they were astounded at the abilities of the Michelin run-flats...frankly so was I!
