It's not all that American. When GM declared BK, all of their vendor agreements were voided. Most of the parts are currently sourced from China, even the flimsly Chinese made air filters (I purchased a Wix, made in Mexico, instead).

And my" CHEVORLET Volt as a second car" thread gets moved in 8 posts with a commonality regarding both vehicles being ground breaking when they were first introduced.

Well fellas so far iam loving my new STI. Been doing research on springs/sway bar kit. The handeling in my opinion is great from factory but for me id like less understeer corner entry and mid.
AS far as a buyer i sold my ex Z to a young gent who wants to strip the car for race.
In terms of my STI, i leased it for 42 month @ 3,9%. High 400 a month.
MSRP was 38750 , bought my car for 35400, this is not common for this car.
BURNIN 4, great looking car with very impressive hp.
The point to this is, ive allways paid top dollar for a NEW car. My STI will be perfect for me until the ZR1 drops in price and it will.
No way iam paying 90-112 for a car. Been there done that. NO MO.

Are you really planning on modding a leased car?...

Nice choice.

Especially when you're living up here where there's snow on the roads 8 months out of the year. (My DD is a Legacy GT.)

you aren't really the typical subbie demographic, but whatever floats your boat. The cars are but ugly but I have to admit a blast to drive and very capable. You might want to check out http://forums.nasioc.com/

I've got a 2010 STI as a DD. Front and rear bars make a huge difference. I went with the Perrin 25mm F 22mm R setup. Also a stage 1 tune really wakes the car up.

as "fugly" as you think that subaru is, it would have ripped a gaping hole in your Z in virtually every performance category

Appreciate all types opinions fellas. All i need now is a set of lowering springs and an aggresive alignment but still got ways to go for proper break in.

Congrats! The STI is a GREAT car. I sold a white one to buy my current Z06, there are times I really miss that thing. Great car man, I'm stoked for you!

Holy crapola! I though I was going crazy when I found myself test driving a 2011 STI two days ago!

Honestly, you cannot compare the two cars but the handling and precision from a heavier, 5-door car compared to the Z06 is surprising. The car felt great in transition. In a straight line it's not that bad but definiteyl needs a GT40R and 8400rpms!! (oops!)

How much did you pick your up for and from where? The local subaru wanted to give under $40k for my car and with a straight face! Unbelievable! Let me know as I'm in the market for one of these right now.

A WHITE HATCH 11' STI though no one seems to like the hatches.

I bet there's a lot more scoobies than Z's on the road right now, in the Midwest, East and North...

If I lived in snow country, I'd have one.
