My exhaust got louder ????
hey guys, i have a 07 z06 that just hit 9000 miles today!!!!
i noticed that when i drove it today that the exhaust got louder..
it sounds the same at low rpm's but once i start to get to 4k + i can hear a louder deeper tone coming from the exhaust.
i know it wasn't there before, so im wondering is this normal ?????

i failed to mention in my 1'st post that i removed the fuse for the flap's so that they are always open.
so if that is what your talking about then yes i do know how that.
but it's still sounds different with the flap's being open since day 1.

If you pulled the fuse and the flaps are always open, then there really shouldn't be any difference in sound when you hit 4k on the tach, since the flaps are always open.

it happens to all of us. Fuse pulled baffles are open.

you guys aren't understanding what im trying to say.
ill start again..............
2007 Z06. the day i got it the exhaust fuse was pulled. ( i understand that this makes the exhuast louder ) i've had the car for around 3 months and i have noticed yesterday the it got MORE LOUDER than usual.
i don't know if this happens as the car get more broken into or not ???

Driving around town (3500 rpm or less) on hot summer days when my oil temp is 190 or higher my exhaust (BB Fusions, open valves) is noticeably louder and harsher sounding; on cooler days like today (high of 55) with oil temp running about 165, the exhaust sounds mellower, more of a nice rumble. Above 4000 rpm the exhaust sounds pretty much the same regardless of oil temps.
I wondered if the harsher sound with the hot engine had something to do with reduced timing and poor or incomplete combustion. Or maybe it was all that heavy metal rock as a teenager...
