If the OP wants the car now, though, and plans on not buying a new place for a year or two, that's a pretty bad option for him.

I am under contract to live here for another 2 years. I am not going to wait until 2013 to buy my dream car when I can afford it sooner. I am quite happy with my efficiency appartment, it serves my needs in a town I would never own property in. For a storage-building to run me $100, I now have an appartment for $405+$100 that = insulated garage and living place. Not bad, and it's 7-day access with good hours and a $100K security system.

I vote storage facility.

There sure are some paranoid people here. It is a car, it is insured. Buy it and love it.

Those must have been very strong milk crates.

that's exactly what I did....put off my first Vette buy until my garage (I call it my shop) was ready. 2400 sqft detached with addl 760 sqft mezinine storage....has a full bathroom with steam shower...turning into a cool man cave as well

Paranoid? I used to live where a lawn-mower wouldn't last 20 minutes in a fenced lawn. A 'vette would last about as long as it took you to go inside. It can be rough in the south.

If you followed the link you would know that these lifts can be placed outside and are commonly placed in driveways and front lawns.

Get a weatherproof cover and a Glock .40. Now it's protected from weather and you can have target practice with the thieves and vandals.

If you are absolutely set on buy a Z right now I would get a storage unit. Not owning a home is not an excuse to avoid a Z if you can avoid it. We live in an apartment right now, and albeit a nice apartment it's still an apartment. With the higher rent though we have a parking garage which is closed access as well as monitored and we also rent a two car private garage for the Z. If we didn't have a private garage, I wouldn't own a Z.. the Jeep has been hit 3 times in the parking garage here.. no way would I subject the Z to that.
Is it worth buying a Z early to have it hit/keyed/vandalized? Ask yourself that.

And place a sign on it that says "Guarded around the Glock"
