Congrats!! Same here, i went the same route also......what a car!! I think I'll be keeping the new Z for quite a long time, if not forever, it's just a beast of a car....or until I can upgrade to ZR1....lol

Congrats and welcome!
I went a similar route, had a heavily modded C5Coupe, just sold it in June and picked up my 07Z in July.
They are great cars, enjoy and be safe.

Loved my 94 C4 and my 98 C5, but just recently traded my 06 Saleen Mustang for my 06 ZO6. 
The car is still completely stock with 25K miles on it when I got it, and it is AMAZING. It is my daily driver and is a phenomenal car, my only concern right now it finding a set of wheels for it somewhere in the near future.

The Z06 obviously rides a lot rougher than my C5, even though my C5 had the Z51 suspension. The Z06 is also a lot more .... uh .... civilized, only because the C5 was really loud (lt headers, Borla Stingers, etc). I think the sound system in my C5 actually sounded better, which is hard to believe considering it was 11 years old. The transmission in the Z06 shifts a thousand times better, and I even had the C6 shifter in my C5.
It took me a good 4-6 months of 'considering' a Z06 before I finally pulled the trigger. I had owned my C5 for 8 years, so it was a little hard to part with it. HOWEVER, looking back I have no regrets. I love this Z06! It's a blast to drive. I took the wife out this past weekend, and 'tested' 3'rd gear with her in the passenger seat. Her exact words "Holy crap! This thing is fast!"
