Your information on the Katech valve covers saving 4 lbs is misleading.
The Katech C-F covers cannot be used without their coil relocation hardware, thus an appropriate comparison to the stock valve covers needs to include all coil mounting hardware...of course I'm assuming people plan to actually drive the car and thus will need coils
See post # 100...the total actual saved is only 1.5 lbs NOT 4 lbs.
Cheers, Paul.
PS. OEM (aka. factory, not reproduction) painted GS wheels are 23.0 lbs front and 26.5 lbs rear. And while the Odyssey Battery site says the PC925 weighs 26 lbs, when I put mine on a scale it actually weighed in at 24 lbs, not sure why this is???
PPS. Not sure if you want to mess with your factory curb weights, but I found what the guy at R&T (on the 2011 Z06 Carbon Road Test thread) said was most interesting: "We weighed the 2010 ZR1 w/3ZR package at 3365 lb. and 2011 Z06 w/ultimate perf. package, 3LZ and carbon pkg at 3305 lb. So a 60 pound difference for similarly equipped cars."...so while your 2010 ZR1 weight is only unreported by 15 lbs the 2011 Z06 Carbon weight is unreported by a very significant 98 lbs!

*I can't change the weight of the Carbon as of yet until I have one more verified source. (GM weight VS R&T) Every magazine quotes different weights. I'll change the 2011 weights more once more magazines test them.
*Factory GS Wheels added
Thanks for the weights.

Blaine,
First a correction. The stock OEM Z06 lug nuts weigh 50 grams each for a total of 2.2 pounds, not 2.02. My (Halltech) standard titanium lug nut weighs 13.8 grams or .61 pounds for a set and a saving of 1.59 pounds. My ultra light lug nuts weigh 9.9 grams per set or .44 pounds for a saving of 1.76 pounds.
I just finished getting the new B&B 1/78" long tube headers on and I weighed everything. I was surprised to find that the stock headers and cat pipes are different.
Left OEM header: 12.99 lb.
Left OEM cat pipe: 11.63 lb.
Right OEM header: 12.90 lb.
Right OEM cat pipe: 11.50 lb.
The B&B header bolts right to the stock mid-pipe and eliminates the cats. They weigh 12.75 lb each for a total of 25.5 lb. (Gained 18 hp at peak)
Savings over OEM headers and cats: 23.52 lb.
The mid-pipe hanger springs and brackets weigh 1.02 lb. Unnecessary with titanium mid pipe saves 1.02 lb.
The Akrapovic titanium mid-pipe (no cats) weighs 9.0 lb. Saves 10.4 lb. If you eliminate the hangers, you don't need the hanger brackets on the Akra mid-pipe and the weight saving is now 10.5 lb.
If anyone would like to have the weight of all the OEM Z06 bolt sets and the weight and savings with my titanium bolt sets, they can pm me. I can e-mail a listing.
Thanks for putting all this together.
Gary

I just pulled my windshield washer tank. Empyt it weighed 2.2 lb. I filled it with water and it weighed 14.95 pounds. I am planning to make the long bolts that bolt the front cradle to the frame in titanium so I pulled them and weighed and measured them. They are two different lengths and together the four bolts with nuts weigh a total of 3.44 lb.

I have some Pfadt tranny mounts I'll have to get the weight of those for you.
I'll also have the drag set up for the Weld RTS soon also to get rim/tire weights. Love threads like these!!!!!

What instructions would you like? I have had all four of the bolts out of the front of the Z if that is what you are looking for. So far, I have only been able to remove the two lower A/C bolts. Changing the bolt but not giving up the A/C. You know, Tucson, Az and all

Yes. It is sort of like a driver side version of access to the oil tank. The rear bolt on the tank is not only hidden, but it is installed at an angle toward the front. I spent an hour trying every socket I had to get a bite on it then discovered that it is angled. This is where I got frustrated and did something I promised myself I wouldn't do. I still couldn't get the tank out because it seemed to be hanging up on the filler neck. Obviously, if you pull the inner fender panel it will fall out but I didn't want to do all that so I used a saws-all to chop off the neck. The bottom part fell out but the neck wouldn't move. This is where I "discovered" that the neck has a mounting bolt up at the top. Since I virtually have never used the windshield washers in any of my cars, I plan to do without. I still can't say for sure that the tank will come out the bottom with the neck intact and the upper bolt removed. I promised myself from the beginning that I wouldn't make any permanent changes to my car and I have bagged and tagged (and, of course, weighed) all my stock parts to go along with my car if I ever need to sell it. By the way, anybody out there willing to sell their Windshield Washer Tank? I'm in the market.
