Dissapointed by ZR1
I know it's a driver error, but last night I witnessed a C6 ZR1 race down the track with a depressing 14.6 sec quarter........all I could do was sigh and drink my beer.
On a lighter side I also saw a mustang burst into flames
The driveer was completely unharmed thankfully. Good luck to him

Its almost impossible to go that slow down the track in a ZR1.

If he ran 7.xx in the 1/8 and wasn't wearing a helmet, there's your answer. The owner was out for some practice but didn't have a helmet to meet track rules .... had to slam on the brakes before the speed traps.

It is impossible to turn that high of a time with a car like a ZR1 unless you are not trying for whatever reason.
Lots of people shut down when they miss a shift or for a zillion other reasons
Bottom line is you can leave the line like your trying to set a a new gas millage record and then short shift at granny speeds and still beat a mid 14 by a considerable margin

Don't get wrapped up thinking the ZR is slow because of this. There have been NUMEROUS magazine tests at two seconds less. So this is result of driver error or inexperience. If he was driving a stock vette, he would have had mid 16s or such.

I think you meant 3 seconds less.

As for the Mustang, I have no problem with that.

All driver errror, when I 1st take my built foxrod to the strip I ran a dismall 12.9, since then with more practice I'm knocking on the door of 8's, its all about geting comfortable with the car. Im pretty sure people who know how to drive their ZR1's could run much faster than 14's with the parking break on, shifting at 4 grand.

Total and utter rubbish.
Start by finishing your education, or if you have already left school, then you need to go back to learn English.
Your grammar, sentence structure and spelling would get you absolutely nowhere near a job in journalism. (well maybe with the Guardian).
That and the "story" is well below average.
