Z06 price thoughts
I was dropping my wife's car off for service yesterday when I was chatting with one of the sales guys who was telling me about a vette they took on trade. It's an 07 silver z06 with 1,632 miles. Yes that's the correct mileage. It has power everything, HUD, Nav but no sure 2lz or 3lz. Can anyone tell me how to figure that out?
Also they will give me 32k for my low mileage A6 06 vert and sell me the z for 46,100 (he told me that's what they paid but he he is a sales guy). I don't love the vert or especially the auto trans.
Thoughts on whether that is a good deal or not? Carfax is totally clean.
The other car they had was an 05 red viper with 4k miles on it for a grand more. Decisions, decisions.
Having a hard deciding what to do so I am open to opinions.

Yeah I just went to decode this.com and it is a 2lz with chrome wheels and Btw the car is silver, which I like, but the vin decode says it was an additional cost. Can that be true?

Do you really want the Z06 or Viper....if so, then it's time to think about it.....I do have a hard time believing they paid they 'allowed' 46k on a trade....however, it depends what they were 'selling' in return.....that price for a Z06 with the mileage you described I would pay in a heartbeat (in my area-Tx where we can drive our Vettes almost year round). For a Z06 with 1600 miles is awesome. If it's a 2LZ or 3LZ you can tell by looking at the dash. It will be covered in leather (only diff in 2LZ-3LZ) wait....I think 3LZ came out in '08....check that out to make sure....either way....2 or 3LZ....I would certainly pay 46k....sounds very reasonable to me. (FYI-just bought a new '10 last spring and paid 73k-fully optioned 2LZ-chrome, nav, f/w spoiler,tintcoat-should have waited until year end),,,,,

I just recently traded a 09 Auto Vert for a Z, same thoughts, hated the auto and really never put the top down on the vert, I could not bear the thought of yet another headliner needing to be replaced. I love the ZZZ. I would be all over a Silver Z with 1600 miles at that price. P.S. go in there and deal harder, bet you will get the car for less.

If the car is gonna be a DD, I'd definitely go for the Z06. especially since I see you live in NJ. We get a lot rain and cold weather up here so the safety nannies on the Z06 are a good idea. I drive my Z everyday up until about the second week of December. Then it hibernates all winter till mid to late March. As cool as the Viper is, and I'd LOVE to have one, I just cant see myself driving one everyday, especially in inclimate weather without some sort of traction or stability control.

The reason I said that is the car dealers usually "allow" or "trade-in" value is less thatn who;esale and definitely less than retail....and living in the east their price is 1000-2000k less because their normally 'pleasure, summer' type cars....that's why I said in Texas we can drive ours 'almost' year around....(now I just jinxed us by saying that and it will snow all winter)

A silver Z is tuff to beat and that initial price on a low mileage 2007 seems like is a pretty darn good deal from a dealer, especially since as you say you haven't even beginning negotiating.
The Z is incredible but you have to decide if its the car for you, if yes, NEGOTIATE to the 10th degrees on your resale value and purchase of the 07 Z and GO FOR IT!!!

Any decent chance you have at getting rid of a convertible, especially one with an automatic transmission, for a Z06, you should take it.
