C6Z06 record 'bolt-on' dyno numbers?
My buddy's bolt-on c6Z layed down 516rwhp and 493rwtq on a Tune Time Performance's stingy Mustang Dyno thru the stock gears.
This dyno typically reads 12.5% and 11.9% lower than the local dynojet and dyna-pak respectively.

I think some people get stuck on the importance of dyno numbers. Any dyno operator can make any car read higher by manipulating the dyno. It makes the owner leave with a smile, but what does that actually mean? What is his mph in the quarter?

My car makes 1000HP on a dyno.
Peak dyno number's don't mean squat. Too easy to manipulate. They're a tuning tool, nothing more. No two dynos will read the same. I've seen my numbers all over the place depending on what dyno I use. The one my tuner uses is all that matters to gauge relative differences, and now I know of an area dyno that runs a little hot compared to Ragin' Racin's, but does that mean my car is actually making that much more power? Nope. Only thing that matters now is who gets to the finish line first.

Maybe something for him to shoot for.

Yes, I am the Devil's Advocate.
My car should run mid 10s at over 135MPH. Doesn't mean that *I* can run mid 10s.

Assume good driver, good weather, good track conditions.
What et and mph do you predict?
Being a friend of the Devil you can guess high.

But you ran the dyno, silly. Run the dyno some more on all of our cars, then you'll have meaningful data.
That's why I like dyno days. Get to see a lot of cars and see how they compare to one another on the same dyno, same day.
Same goes for the track. Cars will run faster down here at Baytown than they would in Denver. So everything is relative.

It was mentioned that I ran the dyno because some were suggesting that shop owners manipulate #'s to make customers feel all warm n fuzzy. I was simply taking that variable out of the equation.
Silly me.

If he's making similar power to your car, can I assume that you would expect his car to run 10.5 @ 135?
Maybe hat can be a goal for him?
Thanks
