Love the GT but I like the thought of the Z doing it all with NA motor.

You are a 100% correct abt the fact that there is only one GT and there are ferraris n lambos... At 200k I can get a 1000rwhp UR Gallardo that will do circles while racing the FGT and take pics of the FGT that's is modded and then when he decides to take front view of it he will step on the gas..

End of the day when open your garage you will have a raging bull on the hood vs the blue oval that is also found on a Fiesta!! Please don't take this the wrong way, I love the FGT but if I had put my 130-140k on a sports car it will not be the FGT... There are a ton of other cars that out perform it look just as good if not better and offer exotic interior appointments as opposed to remolded budget plastics found in the FGT!! (sat in one and happen to realize that this car does share the parts bin with escape, Taurus, focus etc etc)

Ford has crap for dealership backup for these cars as well. God forbid you had to take it to a dealer to get something done...

Not to mention the engine has more then proven itself long term, which is somethin I've never heard ferrari owners brag about. Still would take the Z06 any day. It may not have the crazy looks but at end of day I can live with the fact of beating $200,000+ cars, question is can they deal with looping to a $70,000 car.

Stock or Stock the C6 Z06 is faster than the Ford GT. (R&T Testing) I'd take the Ford GT for a weekend driver.

I would take the Ford GT in a heartbeat. One of the greatest cars ever built.

Best prices I saw when I was window shopping was in the $130K range. An awefull lot of money. Enough to put a Z and a Gen IV Viper in your garage easy with enough left over for mods.

I agree. Plus, the Ford GT has retained it's value better than those of Ferrari and Lamborghini. My friends have Ford GT's and they are awesome cars. I prefer Corvettes, and my LG Motorsports Z06 full H/C, Suspension application is more than enough for me - Thanks everyone at LG Motorsports!

This video is one of many I watched before I got my Z06... Everyone I watched got me closer and closer to getting one.
Thank you Gene for making some of them.

and the raging bull comes on tractors!

I wouldn't mind one in my driveway though, or the GT.

I would take a FGT any day of the week over my Z. I saw a completely black one 4 times this past weekend in my friends neighborhood. I would damn near die for that car.

As someone already mentioned...
Stock vs. stock the Z06 is a bit faster and the better track car.

It's also much cheaper to run the Z06 vs. the Ford GT43.

Robinson Racing's Ford GT is Wicked Fast @ Road Atlanta, but
thats a highly modified ALMS GT2 race car.

So yeah, they can come out to play... but would you want to take
an ~ 150K Ford GT cruiser and strip it for tracking???

I would take another Ford GT (mine had the big Whipple) over a 430 or Gallardo or Murci, and here is why - Ferrari and Lambo build those all the time/still. The Ford GT is special b/c Ford stepped up and built a wonderful car, one time, for a limited run, and that is what makes them so special. I am not a Ford guy and never have been and it was really hard for me to trade in TWO Corvettes (C6Z and a C6 Vert) AND money for my GT, but I loved the GT.

Stock for stock they are damn close, with the very slight edge to the Z.

Mods? A TT GT broke the mile record two months ago at 253, but then a day later a TT lambo beat that by a MPH or so - the point is either can be built to the same outrageous levels. The stock GT block is good for 1000 HP, so it is a great platform.

The Ford GT is an awesome, historically significant car.

Please name one piece that is shared with any of the cars you listed. Ours has a lot of Magnesium, aluminum, and carbon fiber...but very little plastic. If you want to hate on the GT just because it's a Ford, that's cool. But the car is as well put together(with premium components) as any other car in its price range.

We're lucky enough to have both & stock vs stock it's a drivers race for sure. Every magazine that tested both cars head to head had the Z06 a tad quicker at the drag strip while the GT was a touch faster at a road course.

And while the GT carries a much higher price of admission, for about the price of a complete exhaust on a Z06,the GT can have over 700rwhp.

I don't know...call me crazy, but I really prefer the Z06 any day of the week over the GT... oh I guess maybe I am not that crazy I forgot we are in the Z06 forum so I think it might be okay to have some pride for the Z too

Looks also go to the Z any day of the week. If I had a choice of the Ford GT and a Ferrari, I would also take a Ferrari any time over the Ford.

I do really like the Shelby GT500 though, now that looks The GT looks too flat IMO.

This comment is an Oxymoron. The dealership backup for Ferrari or Lambo would have to be the most terrible on the planet. Few and far between and very opportunistic. Don't get caught with your shorts down around a Ferrari dealership if your car is in or out of warranty.

Ran with a couple of FGTs at a Daytona HPDE event. Both FGTs that weekend had brake issues (running stock brakes), but that could be a lot of things. But I will say among the R8s and Ferrari's the FGT looked the best on on the track. Just an awesome looking car on the high banks, every time I would pass one it was hard not to look in the mirror too long. FGTs have to be one of the best looking American made cars ever.
