Default New ZR1 owner

I picked up my 2010 Blade Silver ZR1 at City Chevrolet in Charlotte yesterday and drove her back to MD. The trip was awesome except for the T-storm north of Richmond. She lost her "never driven in the rain" virginity and I was sick. The storm came on us in a very rural area with nowhere to seek cover. Oh well.... This car is the most exciting car I have ever driven. I traded my 08 Z06 in and got what I think is a very good deal. The Z06 was a great car, but there is NO comparison to the ZR1.

Congrats and don't worry about the rain. I drive mine in the rain all the time. Water won't make it melt. :-)

Default Cool!!

Congrats!!! What did you end up paying for it? Looks like I am going to buy one in October---will see what is left from the 2010's by then and what price I can get it for.
I too had a ZO6 and it was awesome car----what do you notice as the prime difference in the ZR1 vs ZO6???

Congrats on the new ZR1!

Let us know when you're ready to take your free Ron Fellows ZR1 School at Spring Mountain. You won't be disappointed.

We just took delivery of 2 new 2010 ZR1s! We now have 4 2010s and 3 2009s.

Let me know if you have any questions.

You can also call Donna or Melinda at 800-391-6891 to get more information or do set up your school date.

I also HIGHLY recommend the optional 3rd day. It's mostly track time and you really get a chance to practice what you learned in the previous 2 days.

Enjoy your new ZR1, just be careful of the throttle till you get used to it.

I paid $112K for it. It's a 3ZR and City gave me $51K for my 08 Z06 with a little over 6K miles. I paid $55K for the Z06 a year ago, so $4K is acceptable for a year in the car.

Primary difference I can tell so far btwn the Z06 and ZR1 is the ride. My Z06 bounced all over the place on rough roads and followed every rut in the road. It became annoying. The ZR1 rides 100% better and
doesn't track on ruts. I have only 461 miles on the ZR1 so I have not pushed it, although this morning I took it out and engaged the supercharger a few times in 3rd and 4th. Holy s#&t Batman! It sounds like a F-16 taking off and I can feel the rush of the torque kicking in.
Awesome!

Congrats! Dont worry about the rain, thousands of gallons of water get dumped on the car at the factory for the leak test.

No it won't melt, but a wet road will throw up small stones and road debris on the paint causing nicks. Not something any new vehicle should get so soon, much less a $112,000 Corvette.

Hey... it's a CAR for crying out loud. It's going to get road debris thrown at it, there's not much that can be done about that. Hell, if I were worried about debris, I certainly wouldn't be bringing it to the race track, would I? :-)
