The clutch cannot cause the transmission to make that noise. Especially if it makes that noise in just one gear. One thing that people have to understand is that these are $2000 mexican built transmissions. They aren't designed to do what many of us do with them, and they do fail from time to time. You could just have a gear that has been overheated and is now whining. There really is no way to tell what is going on without taking the car apart. That is what needs to happen.

And, RPM is the best place to have it done!

I too had transmission whine. Seemed to develop overnight. I had Katech check it out when it went back for the second round of mods. Jason thought it might be in the torque tube but wouldn't know till he got into it. I decided to have them send it to RPM for the Level 5 mod and swap the rear end for the Quaife while it was apart.

I'm very happy with the results and have some peace of mind as well. The shifting is pretty good. To quote 'Painrace', "it's like butter".

Thanks for the replys... The car it's doing it in all gear now and always stop "whining" when I push the clutch pedal. Taken it apart next week.

I'm betting is the ZR1 Throwout Bearing that came with the LS9X

Cheers, Paul.

I wish I had the driving skills to point out the benefits, but I only started tracking my car hard after it was put in. I can say this...
Johnny O'Connell and Andy Pilgrim complimented me on it when they hot lapped my car around Autobahn. Andy told me that alot of the Porsche racing guys use them and he hasn't heard anything bad about them.

I drove Tommy's car last year after the install and it hooked up very well. It is an upgrade! If your transmision and rear end are going to RPM I recommend the upgrade. However, the average guy tracking his car will probably never notice the difference.

Hmmm, thanks Tommy/Jim...kinda what I thought, maybe something to consider when I have it all apart again for some other reason.

Cheers, Paul.

Is the car in neutral when you push the clutch in or in gear? Could be a big difference there. If the car is in neutral the transmission isnt spinning at the same speed and would take away the noise. Try running the car before taking it apart, leave in gear and push in the clutch see if the noise goes away, then do the opposite trying to push in the clutch leave the car out of gear to see if you get the noise. Then maybe see if you can get the car up in the air and with a mechanics stethescope listen for the noise keeping the rear control arms pushed up so you dont get axle bind and see if you can hear the noise coming from the tranny or clutch area. These could be time consuming but less than taking a clutch out that doesnt need to and you can just remove the tranny instead. But it could be the clutch but atleast you know that then

Yes I did that... when I push the clutch pedal the noise goes away in neutral and on gear...

The noise is loud enought to lisening without stethescope

Has the noise changed since you posted the video? I aks simply because the noise in your video is not the clutch. That is the transmission and unless it has changed, you have something else going on.

YES, is louder hehehe...

My tech found zero issues with the clutch on my friends Z (black mamba)

On my side, The dealer is changing all bearings and seals of the trans right now... hopefully it will resolve this issue.

So far the problem have nothing to do with the LS9X clutch

Glad to hear it is getting resolved and had nothing to do with the LS9X clutch. I hate to say it, but I told you so.
