IMO

1) Check for proper fluid level in Trans. as above.
2) Drain the oil in Trans. and fill with proper fluid.
I would just do # 2.

Good luck.

If you want to hear winding you should drive a dog ring transmission. You guys hear too good. Run the hell out of your cars and the noise won't be so noticable!

Guys this noises are not normal... With my stock clutch was zero noise, just like my friend Z... Both put the LS9X and star all this trouble.

There something wrong with this clutch, one person with this is ok but 3 person with the same problem???

Autopsy scheduled. I find myself wishing there's some other explanation. Everything else is so perfect about it. Never hung on 800rwtq, repeatedly, shredded the DRs at the dragstrip without a glitch. This is no good. We will see come next week.

Does it hook up? Can you shift "OK"? Does the car creep in gear? Noise is a part of performance cars. Who installed it? Katech installed mine.

Default Trans noise

I wonder if you are hearing normal noise from transmission being amplified by an aluminum flywheel? The pressure plate attaches to the flywheel directly metal to metal and the transmission attaches directly to the torque tube assy. A local C5 owner told me he put an aluminum flywheel in his car single disc car and it was so noisy he put the stock one in very shortly.

Everybody has a different noise threshold and I for one think the Z06 is too loud unmodded. Has anybody ran across a billet steel flywheel that will adapt this LS9X clutch in a C6 Z06?

That is the transmission making that noise. The clutch can't make that noise if it is hooked up. Get a louder exhaust! I say you are hearing more noise because the clutch is lighter and the over all system is transfering more noise. Just my 2 cents. Mine whines too.

Yours whine that loud? Really? I know it could be the trans, I just said it may be because of the clutch

Same setup as Painrace, installed by Katech - no abnormal noises...(actually quieter than OEM). He also drove my car at Track Attack - no issues.

My C5Z made this noise after I put in a built tranny. Only in third gear though. It whined or sang and changed pitch with rpm. Third was the only gear it did it. I experienced no problems and the GM tech did not seem to be worried about it when I mentioned it to him. That car had a stock diff/built RPM trans/spec 2+ clutch.

My trans is not upgrade it... is 100% stock, I only want to know why after installing the LS9X begin the noises.

Could be the ZR1 part (slave? I can remember) that bring the kit? just a thought because its go away when I push the clutch pedal (crusing or neutral)
