Are there any fitment issues with the intake duct rubbing or pressing against the hood? I had the halltech stinger on my C5 and it was really hard to get the hood closed, really had to work it to get it shut. It also made a rub-spot on the hoodliner that looked bad.
I am considering this intake but don't want to go through that again.
Also, you said the heat-shield is included in the price? That is what is making me lean toward getting one, finally a way to keep the IAT's down.

I have your 1st Killer Bee on my 2006 ZO6. I have LG long tube headers with high flow cats. I have had no problems with my Killer
Bee system. I do not have the bee hive system. Please tell me the benefits of the beehive II and if any timing will need to be changed. Thanks.

The Bee Hive is nothing more than a heat shroud that you can add to your existing Killer Bee...All that is does it help keep the hot air/ambient engine heat away from the intake and force the intake to pull air from below the car rather than from the top.
It also finishes off the look a bit also....
You can get it separate here...
Halltech Corvette Beehive
Hope this helps....

Thanks. I mistated my earlier question. I have the first Killer Bee system. Are there enough bebefits to change to the new Killer Bee II system and would I need to do anything to my different to my timing? Thanks again. I have made purchases from you and you have a quality operation.

First off, thanks for the nice comments. Certainly appreciated.
As far as changing from the original Killer Bee to the Killer Bee II...No, my opinion there is not enough differences to make scrapping the first version for the latest. If you did make the swap, nothing would needed to be done with your timing at all...No tune needed.
Of course, this is all assuming your car is an LS3 or Z06...The new killer bee does not work with the LS2 engine unless you get a new MAF and tune...
Thanks,
Jim

We have discovered a small issue when the KB2 is used on the LS3 base car. Possibly the 2009-2010 Z06. Someone with this model year might check and report back. We have an 08 and the PCV line is different, and no issue.
The LS3 has a rubber sleeve in which the PCV plastic hose inserts into. When connecting the PCV line forward into the KB2, you can pull that line out or almost out of the rubber sleeve, which can cause a lean code condition or Traction Control Off message if all the way off.
The fix is to just take off the Pass. Side beauty cover and check to be sure that connection is secure. If it is disconnected, or almost disconnected take it off and heat it with a hair dryer and stretch the plastic line so it reaches the PCV nipple without disconnecting.
These instructions were done originally for aesthetics, but you can see the rubber sleeve I am talking about. The instructions below show how to fix this by re-routing the PCV line.

We have had a couple of incidents like this so we borrowed an LS3 from our local dealer, EWALD Chev. and found this out for ourselves.

I have an 09 Z06. All OEM except for the Killer Bee II and Mild 2 Wild. I had this issue this weekend. I ended up doing the "disconnect the negative battery cable" method. It worked for 10 or more miles, but then I got the "service traction system" and right after "service stabilitrak system" message again. And eventually the CEL came on. Car at idle RPM is a little jumpy. Car still ran great though, nothing different. I haven't looked under the hood yet, but I certainly will tonight as soon as I get home from work.
email me a jim@halltechsystems.com
The fix is simple.
Thanks,
Jim

I recieved mine last week , I wasnt really expecting much of a seat of the pants feel. I was wrong , there is improved throttle response. The directions are ok at best , but this is a nice product.

Does it sound better? Maybe an odd question, but I remember installing an intake for a Mustang I had and it also made the car sound better...likely due to the extra air intake.
