[Z06] Cleaning Z06 engine bay

I have my own 3000 psi. Pressure Washer and blast the crap out of it. I keep the nozel back about a foot or two and just let it rip.
It aint made out of sugar. No fuss no muss and it is done in 5 minutes.
So far I've had this car 4 years and power washed the entire engine a couple of dozen times with zero problem. Looks almost as clean as the day it rolled off the assembly line.
I just Power Washed it this morning and you can see it is pretty sanitary.
I even blasted the heck out of the alternator...Clean as a whistle
If I had a dog I would Power Wash him too.

Melting Slicks
My C5
My 5.0
Wife's M3
The Viper
These were all cleaned the same basic way. (see prior posts) The 5.0 was slightly more tedious due to the "less water tight" electrical system.

I'm looking to clean the engine bay from my '06 Z06 I picked up a month ago. It's pretty filthy in certain areas.... I was going to use degreaser, but I'm pretty scared since it's my first time doing this.
What all should I cover? a friend of mine told me to wrap certain things in aluminum foil like the intake filter, alternator, and fuse box. I guess it's nice that the battery is in the trunk so that I don't have to worry about covering it.
Any other main components I should wrap up?
Any other tips?

I use a 50/50 mix of Simple Green and water. I use it to spray down a cold engine bay and then let it soak in for a few minutes after everything is hit with a lot of liquid. Then I rinse with my hose set on a gentle spray. Once the cleaner is rinsed away I start the engine, close the hood and let the engine run for 15 or 20 minutes. This drys the engine and makes sure no moisture is left to corrode ground connections, etc.
I do not use any cloths to wipe down the engine. Been doing this for over 20 years with no problems.

Maxx...
I washed mine only once with p/washer and trashed that decal in your second pic (a/c decal on rad) as you did..cost $25 to replace ...maybe I just should have removed it for good but I'm kinda **** about these things so no more direct water..engine bay is hand massaged after each wash job...in and out of all openings...and zaino the exhaust system ...j/k

The old cars might have not started till you dryed them out.
But don't think it hurts a new one.

No problems but a clean engine bay.

Funny post! I have the same power sprayer, and have never had a problem. 3000psi with the white spray nozzle will cut the dog in half though. Be careful.
