Is there a trick to remove the battery from a c6z06?
I'm having a hell of a time fellas. Ive removed the cables from the top, and the strap, but i cant seem to lift it out. Is it attatched to a battery tray back there?
Any tips would really help!!

Yep, its not attached anymore but its tough!
Get some heavy duty Duct Tape, cut some stripes, tape it to two sides and use it as a handle.

No fun! took my stocker out by hand but had to really work the positive cable out of the way. The neg cable can be pushed back toward the rr.
I ended up buying a battery strap for $4 and also bought a clamp style battery carrier for around $7.00 just in case.
While on the subject, call it venting, the right rear corner of the plastic trim around the battery opening has a little indent that does not help with the battery removal. I have no idea why that is even there. Not sure why that corner indent could not be cut out. It would help with battery removal.

you gotta jam the positive cable down in between the battery and i used a long *** screw driver to push the plastic piece towards the back of the car to make more room and i put a rope under the battery and pull up and wiggle..took me like 30 min to pull it out but finally got it!

I tell you, my knuckles are shot and I did the duct tape method...
Well, I was pulling up on the duct tape and some came loose and punched myself right in the face
At least its done and a great battery in its place. I really appreciate the tips.. Cant believe how much of a PITA that was!! This Odyssey 1200 better be worth it
How often should I charge a killer battery like that?

Yup.
My '08 Z06 sat in the showroom for over a year before it dawned on 'em to disconnect the battery. Too late.
After getting it home, next day I tried starting it and it was dead.
I furious.
Made the salesman drive a new battery out to the spread and install it, himself. He left with bloody knucles.
After seeing that I bought a lifting strap from NAPA, just in case I have to replace one myself in the future.
Been there, done that.

Coathangers work well .
I just used two metal coat hangers . Bend them to the proper width of the battery . Slip them under one end of the battery while lifting it slightly . Repeat on the other side . The battery should lift out easily .

After listening to all the guys on the forum, I chose the Duct Tape method. I used two strips long enough to go all the way down the sides of the battery from upper left to lower right corners and vice versa, crossing in the middle to make a nice little handle. Lifted with my right hand and pushed the positive cable down and forward with my left. First time, less than 10 seconds and no skinned knuckles. I know that without the forum help, I also would be bleeding.

P.S. If you don't have any Duct Tape on hand, who are you and what are you doing on my planet?!!!

Turn your car over and pat gently..
Seriously though, the duct tape method worked for me. Make sure the battery cables are off and out of the way. Also, it's much easier to get out if you take out the carpet and hatch/lid assembly. You can get it out with your bare hands like this - though you probably won't want to take everything apart like this often.

Next time, get the cheap lift strap - works great. The negative cable can be pushed out of the way fairly easily. For the positive, take the cover completely off, then grab the carpet/surround and pull it up (there are some snap locks). Then you can tuck the positive cable up under the carpet completely out of the way. I just pop the one toward the front by the positive cable. Then there is plenty of room for it to come up with the battery strap.
