Default Your Significant Other or Your Z?

My girlfriend says that I'm no longer allowed to make ANY financial decisions in the future because I bought a new 2009 Z yesterday.

So, just for ****s and giggles, which would you choose: your significant other or your Z?

Significant other, 10 times over.

And while your girlfriend doesn't have say in it, if you hope to have a long and successful relationship, you should have a mutual understanding of financial goals.

I'd definitely keep my wife. She doesn't care what I buy!!! It usually cost me something for her sometimes but a lot less than I spend overall.

Besides she's a keeper anyway!!!!

If you can afford a Z06 then you have obviously done something right financially. I would be sure to keep making the financial decisions or you might never get any new toys!

Ugh feminism. It will make the best looking woman in the world ugly.

My wife wouldn't have dared to say something about my spending habits while we were still dating. That sort of power grab would have landed her on the dumped curb.

Now, we make decisions together based on our priorities. I want her to be happy and she wants me to be happy, but as the head of the house I choose to make her priorities important. This is because her priorities aren't materialistic and unreasonable...where mine usually are.

For example, We bought our house first, than we bought me a Z06. With the right attitude you both know its not a matter of selfishness. So she doesn't care if I come home with a new AR15 tomorrow, because the important stuff (my attitude towards her) is right.

When you don't have to decide between a car and a girl then you've found the right one.

Shouldn't have to make that choice. My girlfriend was happy I bought my Z06. She likes it and likes that it makes me happy. She buys her own toys and I buy mine. I can spend my money on car mods and she can go do her hair, manicures, pedicures, facials, etc and I won't complain. I swear she spends more on that stuff then I do in mods.

If my SO had a contract(marriage license) she would have some say in the matter, but a girl friend....no way. I'd tell her to check and see if her *** fits the curb in front of the house, as that's where it's going to be kicked to.

Oh, this is funny. I get chewed out constantly because I change cars every 2-3 years historically despite my saying "This is the last Vette I need!" Except with the C6 Z06, I'm pretty sure it's finally accurate. We'll see.

And I did get my credit cards taken away, which doesn't stop me; I just find other ways to get what I want. There's something wrong with me!

If I had to choose, I'd choose the girl. Material possessions are expendable and can easily be replaced. A cherished companion? Not so easy.

But I agree in one respect that until that ring goes on, she does not have much say in your financial decisions. Although if you are financially reckless, that's a big red flag to a potential mate. My wife has her own career and her own checking account, so I have no worries.

On another note, you can't take it with you (money). Plan for tomorrow, yes, but not at the expense of living for today. Life's too short and fragile; it can get taken away from you at any given moment. Plan like you'll be around for a long time, but also balance life's simple pleasures so you don't end up on your death bed wishing you had done more with the time you had.

My wife likes my Z06 simply because I like it. She's never told me to sell it... well, sort of. She wants me to sell it and buy a cyber grey ZR1 instead. I told her that's not happening.

If your girlfriend is going to try and dictate your financial decisions, tell that bitch to chill. If it's your wife, then she's sort of justified. I bought my Z06 while I was single because I knew it'd just be harder to do later on.

First off, let me say that I would keep the SO (in my case wife) hands down over a car. I would be happy living in a box and driving an Aveo every day as long as I still got to come home to her every day.

I am lucky that she enjoys the Z06 almost as much, or more then I do. She not only drives it on the street, but drag races, Auto-X's and does HPDE's as well. She just ran 10.95 @ 132 MPH in it 2 weeks ago on her fist time out on DR's. It was fast enough to put her on the Z06 Fast list. She can out drive many of the men that I know and enjoys racing more then most. She is my "Race Chick", goes by C6 Chick on here and I am a lucky man.

I'd keep my wife over my car, but then again, I know my wife wouldn't ask me to sell (or not buy) my Z06. She seems like my vette more than I do.

In your situation though, I may change my mind...

A "girlfriend" would have no say in my financial decisions.

A "wife" would.

100% Dump here like a hot potato there is plenty of fish in the sea, she is not your wife, and this is not a girl you want to marry as she will be 100000% more bossy and controlling once you marry her. If you marry her its clear she will have you ***** on the fireplace mantle and that is no place for them to be! LOL

If cars are a BIG part of your life and you want to share that with your woman, if she does not share that passion, get rid of her, and go find your soul mate she is out there.

Also, 50 RED FLAGS go off on mind when she is dictating to you and your not even married!
