Looks pretty good. I love the titanium stuff but I think it's in the wrong place. I already have traction problems on the street. What I would really love to have is a set of titanium headers first. Then, maybe an exhaust. Remember in 1999 when they brought out the FRC cars. All the weight was saved from the rear half of the car making it harder to launch with the weight bias shifted forward about another 4%.

I have a different design that will weigh about as much in mild steel ... have to get around to fabricating it some day.

I have one of their titanium systems on my GSXR 1000 and it is art in metal. I would love to have a titanium Akrapovic exhaust on my vet.

Akrapovic has only for latest M3. You should try that one.

UPDATE:

Ok, I know it's not comparable with a Z06, but the Akrapovic system on my GT-R raised the power by 24 fwhp!

And that was compared, on the same Dyno Dynamics RR, with a Milltek Y-pipe which deletes two secondary cats and the same custom Cobb tune!

And early indications are that the full titanium Evolution system for the Z06 (and ZR1) will be under $5k complete with wireless exhaust valve control and optional carbon tips. Much less than I expected considering the UK cost of my GT-R system...

There will also be a cheaper stainless steel option as well as "slip-on" rear muffler only systems.

Considering the quality I've seen, they are going to be a bargain. (They make the OEM Porsche GT2 system amongst others.)

The bad news is they won't be out for a couple of months and a month longer for the carbon tip option. Well worth the wait and the cost IMO.

(BTW, I am not associated with Akrapovic, simply passing on my own personal experience and some info they sent me.)

I'm sure people who buy Akrapovic are not weighing up whether to do headers/cam OR the Akro. Most likely they will already have done and want a no-compromise exhaust to finish it off.

I just spent nearly an hour and a half on their web site. I have no personal experience with the company or their products but if their company is what they say they are, then they are pretty impressive. I alway like the companies that spec their own materials, and do all in-house manufacturing and testing. I am looking forward to seeing more specs and prices. The exhaust would be a great add to the titanium already in my Z. Looks like I will probably have to get more agressive with the weight savings at the front of the car. When you get a car to the limits of traction, balance and weight bias become your major tools. The road race guys live by this in lateral traction but street and drag guys tend to ignore it more or less. I am only running 470 RWHP but I feel that I would like a little more balance and traction before adding any more torque to the mix. So far, I am really pleased with the results of my weight program and how it makes the car FEEL on the street. Looking for more.

Did I just see the correct price tag for their "slip-on?" $2,900.00?! Is that in dollars or in pounds because if it's the latter, that is just insane.

We paid $506.00 just to import them here, including duty, HLS, broker fees, shipping from Poland, and other tariffs. That is included in the pricing.

We'll have installed video coming later this week. Easy to install the slip ons, which are about $300 less, but we are installing the Pfadt Carbon Fiber drive shaft, and re-routing the whole Titanium exhaust to hook up with Kooks headers, for a 42 lb weight loss over stock.
