If you still have catalytic converters, it won't really pop.

Same here, "sounds like Ferrarri".What do you mean by "10 holes in muffler"?

From what I read, you replaced the perforated pipe with a straight pipe and made 10 holes in it? Not sure what that accomplishes if that is what happened.

You should have removed the packing material. Mine pops a lot, especially when she's cold.

Had mine done from what I,ve seen on this forum using solid pipe or exhaust clamps covering the perforated pipe inside.Leaving the "wool" in to prevent resonance. Never heard of the ,ten holes, step.

The popping upon lifting off the throttle is from the lean mixture.

I did mine myself last year before I switched to fusions. I didn't drill the 10 holes though.

393Vette:
how do you compare the QUALITY of the sound b/w the modded exhaust vs the fusions? I'm contemplating on either option. I'm guessing the fusions with x-pipe will have a more QUALITY "tuned" sound.

Thanks!

The modded exhaust sound was better than stock, of course this is a subjective opinion. It was louder and sounded "raw" and slightly tinny but still good. I liked the look of the fusions and after installing them was very happy with the looks and sound. It was perfect for me with the x pipe and hi flow cats. After I went with longtubes, it had a loud drone and was bothersome on long drives. I spliced in a PRT center section and it has been perfect.

hi guys ,
thanks for replaying, i do replaced the perforated pipe with a straight pipe and make some hole for the bimode action.
so some guy said i need to remove the glass packing so the exhaust will poping. does this affect the sound when the valves is close ( since i need the exhaust to be quite when the valve is close and loud when the valve is open).
i really like the sound of the car now.

do u have any pics by any chance????
You need to get in touch with Alyousuf and try his exhaust system its the best. Super quiet with the valves closed and really loud with them open.
