Whats your C6Z weigh???
I weighed my 2008 2LZ C6Z06 last nite and I was dissappointed in the weight. 3160lbs. The scale goes in 10lbs increments though. I had 5/8tank of gas, factory runcrap tires, everything that would be in the car in the showroom, cargo nets, covers, mats, books. Car has Ron fellows rear spoiler aswell. Everything adds up I tell ya!
Curious if theres a break down or thread showing what things weigh that can be removed for weight and what they weigh like the C5's?
So if any of you were curious Id like to hear the following info:
Year 2006-2007-2008-2009-2010
Equip package 1LZ/2LZ/3LZ
Fuel level at the time approx
Anything extra put in or taken out that effects this.
Signed-New C6Z owner that will be going fast with less

3,160 is very petite. If it gets much lighter you will just have more traction problems

I wish my Z was as light as my GF's miata. Talk about responsiveness.
Tires might cut some weight, but most perf tires have pretty heavy sidewalls. Race tires WILL cut weight.
Lighter seats with no airbags will help. Do you have nav? If so, removing the assorted modules will help.
Eliminate any fluids you don't need (windshield washer fluid is pretty much the only one, I'd leave A/C in but eliminating it would drop at least 50 lbs)
Going to a race wheel would probably drop quite a bit as well.
No A/C, race tires, race wheels, lighter seats, no cats and headers and you may get under 3k.

You can run a lightweight Deka Batterie 20lbs 26AH
verses the stocker at 33lbs
windsheild washer tank and motor 8-10lbs airbag Delete
I removed the A/C unit (don't know weight but it's a heap) because I have a better plan to keep the car cool and it's only needed 3mos out of the year anyway +++ with the condenser out of the way the radiator gets a fresh blast of air which for me has meant 192* operating temps during warm weather
Loose the cast iron exhaust manifolds and get a set of Coated headers and X-pipe will net you another 20lbs
aluminum pulleys, aluminum electric water pump , carbon fiber valve covers, & so-on
also clean all un-necessary stuff out of your car
I am in the process of sourcing some 3" Titanium pipe so I can fab up my own X or H pipe and save some more weight
Some use the 70/10 formula for every 70lbs you remove it is like adding 10hp ," I can't attest to this formula for sure" but your car will stop quicker, take off quicker and transition faster while carving corners and do it all without adding horsepower.
I have done more to my car but that should give you a good start
I hope this helps

3160 is very light with all that basic stuff you had in the car still. Do you have nav?
I would be interested to know the weight difference between a fully loaded stock 2LZ vs a no optioned 1LZ. (I have searched, but never found a definitive answer.)

Nice to have the responses guys.
My car is a 2LZ with Nav/heated seats/pwr driverside seat, etc.
I wont want to go removing things like A/C, airbags etc. Just want basic items that to most wouldnt notice or care if they weren't there.
I'm sure the 1st thing i'll do is run the car a little lower on gas but not to low prob 1/4(6lbs per gallon) tank, remove floor mats, books, cargo net, cargo cover, put some non runflat tires on in factory sizes, run the windshield washer out of fluid, remove the Fuel rail covers(help let the heat out of the motor aswell) then reweigh the car see if I get down to around 3090-3100lbs if i'm lucky. Then I can go for some light weight wheels/tires/drag pack, headers, offroad xpipe, light weight catback,my guess is the Vararam is slightly lighter or about the same.
Is the electric waterpump specific to LS7 or is it the same for all LSX's?

...and I got flamed for weighing the car with the least amount of fuel as possible. Apparently GM's weight for these cars is a wet weight so full of fluids including fuel.
My 08 2lz, full optioned car was in the 3120 range with the needle almost pegged to empty. I wanted to know what she weighed with no fuel however, with fuel, she would probably pick up into the 3160-3170 range.
Also, I believe, if you are looking for a light-z06, the 06's were probably the lightest of them all.

My buddies was a 06C6Z that SOB! I know they changed the rear cradle slightly on the 08+'s and transmission. Wheels are the same etc.
