Any performance changes from 2007 to 2009
Am a C-5Z owner wanting to move up to the "Big Boy" 'Vettes again. I owned an 07Z but had to sell. (darn economy!)
Are there any performance differences from 07Z to 09Z that I might want to take in to consideration? I do NOT race. I just plain love the car. I know the 06 roofs blew off and the 08 had toxic fumes hence I want to go back to an 07 and those wonderful 505 horses. Lord, what a difference 100 horses and lotsa' torque make!
BTW, anxious to move to the C-6Z forum. Those guys in the C-5Z can be brutal to us new guys!!

To be honest I don't think there are any real measurable difference's in Z06 performance since its introduction in 2006. There have been some component/part improvements but none that actually show up on time slips.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. But 0-60, 1/4, top speed, braking distances and lateral handling numbers have remained the same since day one. And any difference that have been recorded by individual owners can most likely be explained by driver skills, track conditions etc.

BTW I owned a 2003 Z06

There were some improvements made with the 09. Dry sump system has higher capacity, new transmission etc... I owned an 07Z and now a 09Z. I feel no difference in performance. Hope this helps.

Steering response is improved; better/shorter shifter throw; rear hatch has auto close; I also just figured out today that they improved the instrument cluster trim with beefier/longer clips, when trying to change the stock piece with a CF one (the one they sent me didn't work). This is in addition to the improvements listed before.
