Carbotech Now Offers Brakes Pre-Bedded!
You know we're huge advocates of bedding your brake pads and brake shoes to keep them running most efficiently. With this, comes great news! Carbotech Performance Brakes now offers pre-bedded brake pads in all compounds! In case you aren't familiar with this term, bedding brakes burns resins to keep your pad running most optimally. Tests have shown better performance and better pad wear due to our unique pre-bedding process. Carbotech's pads are now track or street ready from the minute they arrive at your door step. Just install and you're ready to roll. To have your brake pads pre-bedded is an add-on option, and must be requested when ordering. The cost will be an extra $20.00 per axle set.

I got the pre-bedded XP-10 & XP-8 pads and am putting them on now for an HPDE this weekend. Thanks for the fast service. I can't wait to give the brakes a workout this Sunday. I'm going to leave the DBA 4000's on the Z 06, and need you to send me a set of Bobcats for street use. Will let you know how everything goes.
Thanks again for everything,
Glen

Just got off the phone with Mike ordering a set of pre-bedded XP8's. These will be my street/autox pads. Looking forward to getting them installed

Adam,
I got rained out this weekend and didn't get to work the Z with the XP-10 & XP-8 pads. With winter coming on, I'm not sure when the next chance is coming.
Also, I received the Bobcat 1521's yesterday, so I'll probably go ahead and put them on. Will let you know how they work out.
Thanks for all the help,
Glen

Installed my pre-bedded XP8's. I installed them on stock rotors with 11K miles on them (stock pads). I loaded them straight in the calipers without any prep work on the rotors. First trip out the pads stopped better than the stockers. As I put more miles on the new pads they got better and better. I assume this is from them finally chewing through the stock pad material on the rotors. With in 10 miles the pads were up to par. The XP8's have good bite and great feel once up to temp. I'm very impressed that they have more bite than the stock pads even when cold. I wasn't expecting that.
Install was very straight forward once I found a clamp to push the pistons back with. I did reuse the stock pad keepers. They worked just fine with the 1 piece pads.
Overall I'm very pleased with the pads

Did the XP8 exhibit any kind of noise while on your test drive? I really want to move up on brake clamping power however I really don't want to chew up the factory rotors, yet! I find the stockers, even on the street, have left me a bit disappointed when I needed them most...

The xp8 will exhibit some noise on the street but it still is a rotor friendly pad.
Carbotech XP8™ (1108™)
A high torque brake compound with a wide operating temperature range (200°F-1350°F+). Carbotech XP8™ is the first of our racing compounds. Outstanding initial bite at race temperatures, high coefficient of friction, excellent modulation and release characteristics. Extremely high fade resistance, very rotor friendly with 100% non-corrosive dust. Excellent as a front brake pad for lighter ITA, ITB, ITC, SRF, H4, H5, and other cars that weigh less than 2,400lbs. Perfect for novice, intermediate and advanced track day (HPDE) use with any tire, and can still be driven safely to and from the track. There are several vehicles that use XP8™ on the street, autocross, and at track day (HPDE) events. Carbotech does NOT recommended XP8™ as a daily driven street pad due to elevated levels of dust and noise. XP8™ is also a great rear brake pad for almost any race car (Spec Miata-T1/T2/CMC). XP8™ is a great compound on the front & rear of most open wheel and sports racers

I installed mine today, with the lube they are not too noisy. I installed mine with castrol SRF and they feel great. I will try mine at the track November 22, so I will post the results then.
Adam at carbotech is great guy, and I can say they have A+++ costumer service

Ran my first autox on my new XP8's Sun. With two people running the car the brakes felt awesome all day. Nice bite and a solid pedal all day long. I am very happy with my pad selection

Thank you guys We appreciate your buisness and great comments I truly bileve that the pre- bedded xp8 is a great pad for dual purpose on the c6. Yes, there will be noise and dust but it is tolerable and the dust rinses write off it's 100% non crossive no wheel or paint damage. One more plus rotor friendly
