Default Anyone seen this video?

Sorry if this is a repost, but I just ran into this one of Jan Magnussen running the ZR1. I'm not sure if my heart could have taken being on this ride or not!

I'm at 2:35 of the video and I just about pissed myself. HOLY CRAP.

WOW. That guy can drive.

If he goes by the motto "Drive it like you stole it" then he stole it from the Chief of Police at gunpoint.

Did the passenger say I **** my pants at the end?

How do you do that WITH a passenger without a helmet in the car? Holy F! That was quite the ride...

You can feel the speed on that video. Not many videos can do the same.

For as fast as that looked, it was "only" about a 7:50 lap. I can't even imagine how intense a full tilt lap would be.

Strangely, 10-15+ seconds of footage is missing right after he enters the Karussell.

I wonder what happened there.

(Maybe the passenger had to stop to vomit)

Starting from the actual starting line and filling in the gaps at the Karussell and the end, I wonder how long that would have been. Remember that most timed laps are now done with a flying start not a standing one, also remember that there were several slow bike riders and what looks to be a very slow GTR?.

Its interesting that the tyre howl isnt as loud as the timed laps especially at the beginning, he definately wasnt gunning it to its full potential..

It's a 7:09 BTG (Bridge to Gantry) time, which is a rolling start. The accepted "rule of thumb" is to add about 25 seconds to a BTG time to get a full lap. It's probably a little less on a car as fast as a ZR1.

That brings us to ~7:35. Like I said above, there's some time cut out from the film, so the total lap time should be somewhere in the neighborhood of 7:50 if they did a full running start lap.
