Default I just needed to vent!

My DD to work is a 2009 Honda Fit w/117 hp and my fun car is a 2009 Z06. That being said, there is a guy that I have bumped into twice over the last couple of weeks who drives a brand new maserati (not sure which model) that goes about 60 mph through a crowed mall parking lot to get to our office building. He guns it every chance he gets! Today he was behind me, so I took of as good as I could in the Fit, and he gunned to go around me but got behind a truck, so he swerves back in my lane and tailgates the hell out of me even though I am probably going a good 5-10mph over the speed limit. I raise my arms in the air to say "what the hell," and he still tailgates me even in the actual parking garage! I just don't understand the point of gunning it through a parking lot where you know there are several stop signs, pedestrians and cars!!!

P.S. - When I say he was tailgating me I mean tailgating -- no more than 12 inches behind me!

He sounds like he could use a good bitch slap, from my short experience everything from dump trucks to 370zs think they ride behind us and they will go faster lol. Just ignore the asswipe and try not to dwell on it. We just had a homicide down here from road rage.

You missed an opportune time to test the anti-lock brakes and stopping distance of your fit...

Next time.

Had a similar experience into work this morning. Piece of crap truck kept riding my butt very similar to your experience when I was in the left lane (2 lane road.) There was a car in front of me and I couldn't get around them so he decided to ride my bumper so close I could see into his car. The second I had the opportunity to light it up and get in the right lane I did then I slowed down to the speed of the car in the left lane and he was none to happy about that

I would have pulled over and let him by.... not worth getting all upset over. One day he will hurt his car, or worse someone else. Then he'll learn. His ego is bigger then his common sense..... That will lead him to trouble!!

As far as showing him in your Vette... not even worth it IMO

If he really was 12" behind me, and I see him on a regular basis I'd have a talk with him. I'm not talking about threats or a fight, just asking him kindly to not tailgate you.

lets see 2400 lb fit vs 3600 lb+ maserati
and him being 12" away, just slam on the brakes
then call the cops. lol

Excellent idea! I just slow down to a creep and let 'em tailgate. The last thing you want to go is get pizzed. Why wreck your day? Wreck his.

What an a-hole! These type of idiots don't deserve the right to drive on public roads.

Although, I would not recommend the braking part...(tapping enough so it envokes the rear brake lights would be sufficient).

I always wanted to hook up a switch that would turn on the brake lights without having to hit the brakes. It would be perfect for this kind of a-hole. OP - Kudos to you for keeping your cool. Better to vent here than get into a confrontation on the side of the road.

Nothing pisses them off more than if you smile and wave. Don't worry about it, someday he'll grow up, or die from a stroke. Problem solved either way.

I'd find the car about a week later in the parking garage, this way he doesn't really attribute it to you, and make sure there were no more air in his tires That's just me though.... This is all hypothetical of course-

Actually if you turn on your headlights it simulates a braking action
