ROADKILL: Racoon cracks splitter

Don't laugh to hard, but yes I ran over a Racoon doing about 70 MPH and it broke my splitter. I figure the Racoon probably is going to cost me about 2k. BTW the coon didn't make it.

That sucks but 2k isn't so bad compared to the guy in the Lambo on Bullrun who hit one and split his $30k front bumper down the middle.

Poor animal, money is money it comes and goes, at least you came out of it unscratched. Have you thought about replacing it with a cheaper non CF version? Its a great excuse to modify it and make it to your liking, maybe add a little bit more downforce compared with the stock item.

I'll buy an OEM part and hold on to it and just replace it for awhile with the plastic splitter from a Z06. It just a thing!!!!!

I feel your pain! i hit a 18 wheeler tire recap going 70 on the highway! Thank God cracking the splitter is all I did; no undercarriage damage done. New one was about $1400. So I keep a spare now just in case it ever happens again.....

Didnt take any pics, Luckily the splitter broke dead center of the car and I was able to snap it back in p[lace so it really doesn't look too bad, but Of course we vette fans would notice it so I'm going to replace it.
