Default Dealer Price Gouging

Here is an amazing example of dealer price gouging:

http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/...ile.php?id=411

In almost a 2-month period, this dealer dropped the price by $45,000 on flea-bay!

So, you don't like the dealer, you don't like Ebay, what's your point?

that's not price gouging. that's supply and demand. obviously demand wasn't as high as he thought and now the price is lower. nothing wrong with that.

So you think you're a mind reader and have the ability to get into people's heads.

1. Don't assume anything.
2. Don't put words in my mouth.
3. I have nothing against the dealer and have never done business with them to have formed an opinion one way or the other.
4. I have nothing against Ebay.

Care to make anymore assumptions there Einstein?

The dealer asked for a lot more than someone was willing to pay. No one bought it and the price dropped.

I called someone about an '09 a few weeks ago. They wanted +25K. I said no way. He called back a few days ago for MSRP. I really have no interest in the '09's at this point so I said no thank you, and I appreciate the call.

I just paid about four times face value for some Michigan football season tickets. Why? They are 50 yard line, 25th row. To me, they are worth the money. To others, my decision would make no sense.

It is an individual thing to put a dollar value on a purchase. Don't get it when people see a high price and feel they need to condemn the dealer to a life in hell. It is supply and demand and one's ability to do homework which dictates what one pays, and what it is worth to you.

Default again with this c....

I am at the point where now I hope what the 'GM insider' that leaked to the head editor at Vette that the Z06 and ZR1 are gone after 2010 is actually true for no other reason than that I won't have to see another MSRP/price whining thread. I mean really, isn't this about thread 400 or so bitching about the fact that dealers sell them for as much as they can. Big surprise there.

Maybe then the threads will actually be about the cars rather than about buying/selling/availability/markup/options pricing/color/etc.

You either want the car and find the the lowest price you can and buy it or you don't really want it that much and don't buy it. Simple.

Let him keep the car and make their lot look good. My local dealer wants 10K over sticker while you have about 50% of dealers doing sticker. I wish they were 10K off sticker Now were talking.

Their are people selling used ZR1 for msrp.

-I would like to pick up a used ZR1 for lets say $100K, however if they stop making them in 2011, which I sure hope they do not, the value will probably go up or remain the same.
