Default Any Notable Changes For 2010?

Aside from the Z being available in any available Corvette color - any power upgrade? Any driveline strengthening?

With the Grand Sport getting the all the Z stuff except the engine, wouldn't it make sense that the Z06 get's a little some some under the hood?

It has all the same stuff except for the engine?? I don't think that's exactly true -- where did you hear that? It's not even the same chassis/drivetrain/brakes...etc...

The only thing it has is a widebody kit...AFAIK

the only thing the GS does not have is the aluminum frame and LS7. It gets the dry sump, Z06 brakes, same size Wheels/tires.
As far as the 2010 Z06 it gets launch control as all 2010 Corvettes do.

What exactly IS "launch control?" (I'll go research it separately anyway.)

edit...

Here's what I found:

Motor Trend tested the new Camaro with the Chevy launch control.... it was SLOWER when they used it as compared to a good driver.
O to 60 was 4.7 with driver control.... 5.1 using launch control.
Another useless gadget!

As far as the GS vs Z06. It really is a Z06 minus the aluminium frame and LS7.... BUT.. they havent release the price yet. I bet it will be $$$. A coupe will be very close to $70K and the Vert at 75K+ IMO

If this is the case, GM will have dealer lots full of unsold 2010 GS's at this time next year...

Z06 = no increase power

Grand Sport = Decreased power Z06

Sux

Well, thankfully Z's are easy to mod..

Actually, the price has been released. Do a search - Dave at Kerbeck posted it a few weeks ago. I think it was like a $5,500 premium.

They do need to up the power on the Z's. I think a 550hp Z06 would be easier to sell than a 505hp version. lot of people buy that just to say they got more power than the earlier guys do

Yes. The $$$s to build the Vette will come from taxpayers.

I thought the suspension and dry sump were also Z06 items going to the Grand Sport. Everything except for the LS7 and aluminum frame.

A feature to destroy your clutch, transmission, and maybe a few other things.

I doubt the GS is getting the balsa wood/ carbon fiber floor boards, or magnessium engine cradle and roof. Or the beefed up components in the transmissions, drive shafts, axles, gearing, and not to forget the curb weight of a Z because of the aluminum frame.

Big differences for anyone who loves racing, or knows anything about modifying a car. I'll happily stick the 427 over any other 6.x liter offered by GM. It is what sets it apart now and forever over all other corvettes including the ZR1.
