Default Stiff Shifter

I have a MGW shifter in my ZO6. Its the 20% reduction model and it has been excellent up to now. I went to 2 HPD events and both times after 20 minutes the shifter gets stiff side to side. So much so that you can pull it to the left and it will stay there. Making it very difficult to reach 5th or reverse for that matter. But it moves forward and back fine. The car is not over heating, oil temps 210, water 200. Is this the shifter or the actual transmisson causing this condition? I wonder if heat from under the car is somehow causing this condition. When the car sits and cools down, its fine. I'm puzzled.

Had the same problem with mine, directly related to my RAM dual disk cluch needing to be repalced. Intalled a new RPS twin lite and MGW works perfect, no issues. Not saying your clutch is going out but it was the cause of my problem.

Based on this little info, I would think it is heat related, and quite possibly thermal expansion affecting the shifter body

I got a MGW shifter as well, haven't had a problem with it, but i don't track.
Usually for me, its a little stiff when cold, but when everything warms up it shift very nicely.
When i install the MGW shifter, i added more bearing grease on the ball & the surrounding area. May be that help !

Im sure heat has contributed to all thsi, i forgot to mention I have a LG motors thermal heatshield under the car and a thermal plate as well. The inside of the car never gets hot. I'm thinking tranny.?

Thanks for sharing, I'm sure we all wanted to know, hahaha, but it's clutch related. also check your clutch fluid.

I don't see how the clutch enters into this.
