Default Cleaning Interior

Is anyone else having difficulty cleaning the interior of the doors? I have an '07 Z06 and Armor All does not work very well on the doors. It looks like crap. It looks smeared and like it has a white film on it. Can anyone recommend a product specifically for the material on the doors? Thanks.

I have never really treated the leather on my cars before, but due to my love for my Z I picked up some leather cleaner and leather conditioner today. The brand was blue magic see link below. Really did a pretty darn good job I was amazed that is made so much of a difference. My driver side bolster was getting dark and I thought the paint was wearing off the leather, but it was just blue residue from wearing denim. I would try these products as a start they were like 4 bucks a piece.

I used this armor all on the door panels and it worked great. No smears, not too greasy and not too shiny.

Armorall will never touch the interior of my C6! Once you use it you are a slave to it! Those of you that have, know what I mean!

I just use a clean sponge with soap & water. It gets rid of that white chalky look and brings it back to what it looked like in the showroom.

The dealer used Armorall on my Trailblazer SS interior and after a short time it looked like crap! It took several months of sitting in the sun for it to fade away. I like it on my tires but nothing else.

It's like meth, use it once and you can't stop!

You bet it looks like crap, because it is crap! Use a mild soap and water to try an remove......I use Meguiare's quik detailer wipes, no residue, looks natural. If you like Armor All then you probably like vasoline (or valvoline) run through your hair

I use Griot's Car Care Speed Shine (Its a detailing liquid).

It makes the interior, dash, doors, and steering wheel look like a natural clean, not shiny but factory fresh.

Really like this product. I use a microfiber towel to put it on and wipe off.

I also use it to detail the outside. I have never washed my car since I bought it new.

I use Zaino "leather in a bottle" It works fine and smells good. It doesnt leave any film and is easy to use. I use it all over the cabin on the dash, on the console, the a pillars , along the sills everywhere inside.

After washing the car, I use a towel to dry the car. Then I sometimes use that damp towel to wipe down the interior of the doors. Works fine.

I would not use ArmorAll if it still is full of silicones. That stuff gets on something and it is impossible to get off. Years ago there was a big stink about it and it is possible that ArmorAll might have wised up and take the silicones out, but silicones are still crap in my book. But to each his own.

Zaino products work excellent!!!

Been using Zaino for about 5 years now and no complaints. Before that I used Meguiars and before that, does anyone remember Nu Finish???

I use a little Dawn liquid detergent in a bucket of warm water and a microfiber towel - works great!!!! I refuse to use anything that says "Armor-All" on my interior...or tires for that matter.

PS: What's with that damn white film that develops on the rubber/plastic-whatever-it-is dull interior pieces anyway, especially when the car's stored for any length of time???

I use Tough Stuff foaming cleaner for any plastic parts. It cleans well and does not leave any residue at all. I HATE Armor All on interior parts. It just makes everything greasy and the dust sticks to it faster. I quit using that when I was 17.

Forum vendor autogeek.net carries this stuff and lot's more, but never tried it. I accidently bought a few bottles of ArmorAll natural finish detailer for my tires, but found it a bit wimpy for that purpose. It's a water based cleaner with some light protectant abilities. Decided to hit the door panels with it and works very well. Finish looks factory and not greasy. Simple water rinse clean up of your hands. Hope I didn't make a mistake using this stuff.
