Default Rear ticking noise in Z06 gone now at 3500RPM

I had a rear ticking noise in my 08 Z06 that was driving me nuts. It was going on around 3000 to 3500 rpm. It would quit when I would tap the brakes so I thought it was brake related. Well there was a factory bulletin to replace the half shaft nuts on both rear tires. I had it done and the noise is gone. The mechanic said the reason it would quit when tapping the brakes was it was slowing the shaft down enough to make it stop. Anyways I had to have it at the dealer for 24 hours to have this done. They have to remove both half shaft nuts and use a GM supplied threadlocker or locktight that had to be applied with the nuts being torqued to a given spec and than everything had to cure for the 24 hour time.
