He could argue that the only model it could have been was the ZR1 by default and timeline. Moreover why did the dealer not return the dep in a timely manner and indicate there is no ZO7?
Granted it might be a stretch albeit a big one, but for a ZR, I'd take a run at it.
I'm just sayin......................

Most dealer buyer's orders have a provision on the back of the contract (which most people don't read) that limits their liability to refunding the deposit only.
On the other side, if Mr. Bill agreed as per his contract to buy the car and didn't, would the dealer be entitled to damages for breach of the same contract?
As pointed out earlier, Mr. Bill's story does sound a little off.
Let's see the PDF of the original sales order that was written.

Yep, a good law suit on the stealership where they loose much more money than they "think they made" by screwing you over (selling to a higher bidder) might change their business habits for a while !!

Grossman's a big dealer. Why doesn't someone other than OP ask them for their side of the story? This is MINNESOTA the OP is talking about and that kinda crap doesn't fly for long. People get real angry about it.

I know it's already been said, but, Even if you were to win a law suit, you probably would lose out in the long term. Your best chance, Utilize ALL the Press in your area. Not just one radio or TV station but all that will listen. I would have a lawyer send them a initial letter putting them on notice, then utilize the press. The bad press will do them more damage then a potential suit!!!

What the hell!
Sue the dealership! Further, I would inform them that I would post their actions all over the place and "tell the world" as it would not be considered liable (of course consult a lawyer first).

If anyone thinks the OP or this thread has any credibility they need to give their head a serious shake.
The only thing missedherbill and his 13 posts has in common with getting screwed over is when they raised the price on Clearasil face wash.
PEOPLE, IT'S A TROLL

Troll aside...
And then you will be defending a slander suit. If your contract is tight, and it seems like the car they received is not the car you wanted, and you really want to fight it, go see a lawyer. If it were me, with the new goodies announced for 2010, I would just walk away. That new package for 2010 seems like something you might really want to have.
Everybody needs to stop whining about MSRP. What ever happened to free enterprise. You don't like the price, don't buy it. Crying about the fact that you can't afford a 120K car when people are trying to keep a roof over their heads makes me want to puke.

And I've seen more than my share of C6 Z06 owners complaining about it. But why? You own a C6 Z06, a very very special Corvette.
Meanwhile, there are a lot of people that work hard with what they have to make ends meet and can only dream of owning these cars a lot of people on here own. Those very same owners in here complaining nonstop about the ZR1 pricing and then resorting to why it looks terrible anyway, to justify their haggling.
I took your post as people that need to reflect on what they have and be thankful for it. Believe me, if I had a Z06 in the garage, I wouldn't give a crap how expensive this new gotta-have-it Vette was and that I couldn't afford it.cheers:

We don't agree on too much Corvette related, vette6799, but I definitely agree with you there. Simply too much complaining about the price on the ZR1, even when it's at msrp. This whole section has been 20% owner appreciation/satisfaction and 80% whining, which is a shame. And if you and I had a nickel for every "I can afford one but [insert excuse here]".

Keep working hard - your day for a Z06 or better will come too.

More than just its tremendous peak horsepower and torque numbers, the supercharged LS9 makes big power at lower rpm and carries it in a wide arc to 6,600 rpm. GM Powertrain testing shows the engine makes approximately 300 horsepower (224 kW) at 3,000 rpm and nearly 320 lb.-ft. of torque (434 Nm) at only 1,000 rpm. Torque tops 585 lb.-ft. (793 Nm) at about the 4,000-rpm mark, while horsepower peaks at 6,500 rpm. The engine produces 90 percent of peak torque from 2,600 rpm to 6,000 rpm.
