Well call me Mr. Skeptical but I'd really appreciate any video (yeah I've seen a few..apparently) of a Zster actaully breaking 180-185. I'm not saying they can't.....just have not seen it..and ok I think it must be a very ideal condition...and I've seen video or two where the mule was beat but couldn't break the above...again I'm not saying it can't do it I just have not seen it...with a proper calibrated device..and the speedo don't count .

It most certainly does. Especially in the three miles. I could have swore the ODO only went 3 miles on the run.

ZR1 is the same width as the Z06.

ZR1 weighs 300lbs heavier.

I'm not saying 215 is possible as everyone who does anything in the 200's knows that going from 205-215 is when it starts to take much more to go faster and faster. As 215-225 is even harder. 205 GPS will happen in a C6 Z06.
The specs I have seen show the ZR1 at 3324lb is only 144lb heavier than the 3180lb Z06

GM's top speed predictions for bone stock cars are pretty much bang on target.

I would go the bank with the 198mph GM top speed for a stock car.

Of course a cam adding 50 more hp would let the car slowly trickle to 205mph or so in the same 3 mile stretch.

A 550rwhp heads/cam/headers car would almost attain 210 or 212mph in the same 3 mile run.

Many super cars from the 80's and 90's have shown that you can easily achieve 205mph+ with less than 500rwhp, some cars did it with way less than 500rwhp.

But all of them require a 2.5 to 3 mile run to acieve these speeds.

It is when you are trying to reach these speeds in the standing mile that you suddenly need crazy hp levels.

no kidding, here the idiots have a 15 car pileup behind them poking along at 55 eyes frozen on the road 15 ft ahead day dreaming about being rich. i really love it when as soon as they get on the freeway they immediately go the left lane regardless of traffic and park it.

It doesn't take much to tell that the frontal area difference is extremely small. I think we have forgotten what the original point of the thread even is.

I have done 175 in the Z06 and 172 in a ZR1 on a 4000 foot straight. Then came the brake zones.
