Has the car been sitting for a few weeks without a battery tender or being started? Then it's probably the battery. These cars draw juice just sitting due to some of the electronics, mostly the keyless entry.

the DIC is showing all kinds of messages...from anitlock brakes to service engine soon. I cant unlock the lock, but the FOB will unlock the hatch. I drove the car saturday. I started the car for 2 minutes to move it from the garage to the driveway, and now it wont start. I cant get the dash lights to turn off, nor I can get the day time driving lights either.

I have a battery tender should hook it up?

that's a low battery issue.

charge it up or jump it. 2 minutes wouldn't be enough to counter the draw of starting and running for that short of time, plus sitting 2-3 days.

Yes, hook up the battery tender and leave it on.

I plug in the battery tender and the it shows charging.

I keep seeing messages on the DIC that read ACCESSORY MODE ON, SERVICE ENGINE SOON etc... I cant open the doors with either FOB, had to crawl thru the deck lid to manually open the doors. The reason why the electronics are going hay wire is due to the fact that my 1 year old battery is bad? BTW, when I hooked up the battery tender cables, the positve terminal came off. so I put that back on, I hope I did not fry the electronics.

It's in the bottom of your FOB.

I located the key after reading the owners manual, the battery tender was hooked up to the other car. My Vette is my daily driver, but I have been sick since saturday night hence the no driving. I would presume that if the battery was dead I would get no electronics on DIC. I learned something new today. I have tow truck coming to try and jump it.

It is DEFINITELY the batt. The car will throw all sorts of messages like that. Let your charger do its job and you should be good to go without any intervention from service. Moving forward just make sure you hook up a conditioner any time you even THINK the car may sit for as much as 2 weeks.

I would like to thank everyone that responded in this thread, (even the Sun Devil Fan) I got the car jumped and ran it. The DIC reads 13.1 to 13.3 volts So I have scheduled a service appt. tomorrow am to have a new battery installed. I need to drive the car more so the battery stays charged, or by another battery tender to hook up. (any ideas as to how to leave the battery tender cables on the battery inside the hatch area with an open deck lid?).

Here is an answer for you... http://www.kawal.net/chargerplug.htm

Ray Kawal was my inspiration and it works perfectly and should save you future dead battery issues. Because my Z hasn't been driven for 2+ weeks (weather and my being ill) it is plugged into the battery tender right now.

Read your manual, you'll be amazed how many answers are contained in it. If you want a pdf version to keep for easy reference, go to Gene Culley's site ( http://www.gmpartshouse.com/download...08corvette.pdf ) to download it.

Good luck
