[Z06] Is the 08 worth 15 more than the 06?

Just keep in mind that the 06's have already taken the big depreciation dip that every new car takes after the first 3 years...where the 08's and 09's have not. So you can spend the extra $15k today, but in a year or two, after the 08's and 09's depreciate, you will loose that $15k for nothing. So, if you don't mind taking a slightly used car, you will save a lot of money by allowing the previous owner to eat the intial depreciation, which on a $70k car is pretty significant compared to a $40k car. I think the good news on the 06 models for those buying them now, is that the depreciation at this point will slow down dramtically compared to the 1st three years. You can get into a nice 06 for probably $50k flat and in 3 years with low mileage, you will not loose ANYTHING near $15k. Warranty is important, so try and find one that still has the factory warranty and you can buy a 3 year GMPP for less than $1000 and be covered like it's a new car.
make sense?
Basically the 06Z IS the buy of the century at this point. I bought mine in early 07 for $63k, which at the time was a smoking price, as at that point $5000-$10,000 premiums were in existence. Then the 07 prices got raised. If I was only patient enought to wait another couple years, I could have the same car for $50k, but since I found my so cheap at the time, I didn't loose nearly as bad as those who paid a premium over MSRP.

My tires were about to need replacing.
I did not like the steering on my 06
I did not like the way the 06 tracked ruts
I liked the new warranty
I did not like the shocks on the 06
My difference was 15k for a 08 just like you but I am much happier now

I can very much appreciate your position, but $2000 and a set of coil-overs and the car is light years beyond. Take that $15k in mods, and you have yourself a ZR1 KILLER.
