Top gear show is way way bias against all that is american. Looks like they are locked in the 1970's as well with hteir attire.

Not defending the blokes but the car:
It was a standing start mile course. They did not "top it out". They did set a record for the highest mph for a production car at the event though.

There is a serious lack of traction on that salt... And it is a standing mile, so coming out of the hole is a bit difficult for them. Either way, Top Gear, as well as the rest of the world, has a thing for bashing on American cars. Oh well, it just makes beating the competition even more fun!

I would have been scared to death to drift my new ZR1(I don't have one) around those curves like he did but I gues when you borrow one your bravery increases.
Did not know it was a traped time and not an all out top speed. The salt in that case was definitley a huge factor. Awsome car, maybe if i win the lottery I could afford one.
Hats off to everyone who has one, it is absolutley a defining moment in the corvette's history.

I LOVE Top Gear.
It was a 1 mile run, and 176mph in 1 mile is DAMN impressive.. and that's on salt, lol
In the end they said that all 3 cars are great.. OP, did you even WATCH the whole show?
jeez...

Missed this particular show but I've seen it in the past. Some episodes are interesting like the one involving three great cars and a search for the best roads. They picked the Italian Alps.
We all know the ZR1 can easily hit 200 MPH on the right road.

Was I the only one impressed that they took the ZR1 from zero to 170+ in one mile on SALT! Seemed like they loved the car to me apart from some of their usual bashing which I don't think they even believe.
Did it not set the record for the fastest production car they ever ran on the slat flats?? What am I missing here?

It was a pretty good show. I was amazed how Jeremy was able to keep himself from saying anything bad about the cars, Americans, etc. I have a sneaking suspicion this may have been due to all the bad press he was getting for some of his remarks. It was so obvious that he did love the ZR1 though.

Maybe you were just being narrow minded and expected them to pick it apart?

Here's a link to the show.
They were very complimentary on all three cars. Which is a first for them that I can remember.
