Default Whats a C6R Replica w/out a matching Jan Magnussen helmet? PICS

Okay, so some people define fanatic in different ways... haha

Of the six Corvette C6R drivers, I liked Jan Magnussen's old helmet design. Mostly because it matches the cars scheme and has Jake up top. So I took my Arai helmet to Troy Lee Designs, dropped off some paint, showed them some pics, and recently picked up my rendition. I changed three small things to personalize the helmet to me instead of Magnussen but it stays very much the same.

The helmet is finished in a flat clearcoat and came out awesome.

The first three helmet pics are of Jan Magnussen's actual helmet, and the last three are of mine.

The helmet and car will be transported to SEMA this weekend and for any ofyou who are planning on going, it should either be in the Vortech booth or in a nearby hallway.

Enjoy!

You've got it all. Now all you need is a Katech engine.

I had the Arai GP5 laying around and it happened to be the same helmet they use, and Troy Lee Designs did the paintwork

I was confused on whether or not your helmet is a GP5 since the shield looks like it but there are no vents on top. What happened to your 3 vent holes on top? Did they fill those in? You should have also gotten the aero spoiler for the top rear of the helmet. Either way, that's a nice replica paint job.

Yeah, the vents were filled during the paint job. I was under time problems for SEMA or I would tried to work in the rear spoiler... good eye man

Not a good eye. I just happen to own one. That's why I noticed. But great job on your car and your helmet! You obviously put in a lot of time and effort.

Question: Where did you get the front splitter for your car?

Very nice helmet but I can assure you, as Jason says, a Katech engine is more fun!
