Default *** Finally! The Ultimate Clutch from LG Motorsports: The Tilton Triple Carbon! ***

NOW AVAILABLE!

Announcing the new, LG Motorsports Exclusive - Tilton Triple Disk Carbon Clutch for all Corvettes.

http://www.lgmotorsports.com/catalog...oducts_id=1967

This is the ultimate high performance clutch, period. Reduce rotating mass by over 48 lbs+ with this light-weight clutch. The entire clutch assembly with flywheel comes in 2 weights – 14.9 or 19.0 lbs. The performance of the carbon disks allows the car to have excellent street manners while providing the best clutch performance available for any performance package.

Don't be afraid to throw massive amounts of horsepower and torque at this clutch. The Tilton loves to be slipped. Its TRUE, 100% carbon floater discs and drive discs will not wear out like typical clutches found on the market today.

This clutch offers value that comes in the form of long life and the fact that it is delivered with 2 extra plates that compensate for wear. This contributes to the very high mileage reported by users of this clutch.

This clutch revs extremely quickly yet is very streetable. It will not squeal like ceramic or bronze clutches and can be adjusted 2 times. Pressure plate spacers can be added throughout the life of each rebuild to bring the clutch back in spec.

Extreme torque capacity and light weight for fast revs makes this the only choice for serious performance enthusiasts.

This clutch is a large street version of our American Le Mans racing clutch, built for the street and for long wear. The clutch package comes with different thickness wear plates that can be changed out through the clutch disks wear life. There have been reports in high power turbo import cars of up to 40,000 miles of extreme use.

Even after the wear plates are cycled though the package, we offer a rebuild option where the manufacturer will rebuild the clutch back to stock specs.

These features are why this clutch has great value and performance. It is clearly the best Corvette high performance clutch on the market, bar none.

Supra guys report 40k miles out of a unit. I see no reason vettes to not go that long. We go 24 hour races in them no problem.

It feels stock, maybe a touch heavier.
It makes no squealing or chatter

you will be amazed at the extra acceleration from dropping almost 50#s off of your car, much less 50#s of ROTATIONAL weight

And what might a piece of art like that cost? Or do I even want to know?

Edit: I went and looked.

I have an Exedy triple carbon in my competition Evo. It rattles like a can of marbles in a paint shaker when the clutch is disengaged... People ask all the time when I'm in grid, if my car is broke

But it's basically a race car, so I'll live w/ it

How much noise does the Tilton make?

We have them in a supra we run with. It sounds AWFUL with the release bearing engaged, but other wise its a stellar clutch. It will hold the power you throw at it.

If the price is as close to the supra clutches this is not any every mans clutch

Good work Lou though on pushing tilton to release this application it is a great tool for those pushing the bar.

Clutch in, no noise. Clutch out, the gearbox will rattle depending on the size of the cam.

Thank you for the info Louis. You will be getting a call tomorrow from Shawn at Ragin Racin regarding this clutch

When you say the gear box will rattle are you talking about shifter rattle?

I think its the rattle you should expect when engaging the clutch due to the very light clutch ESP. Flywheel combo. Im talking about first hand experience with an aluminum flywheel on a stock cammed Z, I wouldnt want it on my cammed Z though. A friend of mine has both, and although hes a good driver the engine stalls VERY often at launch.

not trying to hijack the thread, I still think this clutch is an amazing part, minus the price of course
